Maison 140 is clearly designed as a boudoir experience with an excessive luxurious experience. While the decor is good, the quality of the furniture is poor when examined closer. The building is old and stuffy and it smells like feet in the rooms and hallway! What a waste of money! The only good thing about this wanna-be boutique hotel is the location... I would never stay there again. more

This hotel is definitely in a convenient location, and adjacient to the Peninsula at a fraction of the price which is great. The common areas are fine, very hip and dark. It's an average hotel in a central location, around the corner from CAA and restaurants close by .. not that anyone (other than a crazy New Yorker like me) walks in LA. Beautiful hotel off Santa Monica, close to everything (I guess, you do have to drive everywhere in LA so what does close really mean?)
