Motel 6 Big Bear is very conveniently located near the ski resorts , grocery stores like Vons and Stater Bros. as well as shops and restaurants. Our non-smoking queen size bed room was decent with basic necessities provided. The bathroom had been renovated and everything around seemed clean. The front desk at check in and check out were all very... more

I remember the days when Motel 6 used to be nice. I am interested to know why they have gone so downhill. I didn't expect much when I made the reservation, but didn't expect to be appalled. It was the worst Motel 6 I've ever stayed in. There were caved-in beds, rock-hard pillows, thin and scratchy blankets, an overwhelming smell... more

We booked well ahead for a busy holiday week starting the day after Christmas -- only stayed one night of the four we had reserved because local family members had room for us after all. I could not have been happier with the reservation process, manner in which we were greeted (late arrival after a very long drive!) and manner... more

My friends and I go to Big Bear each year in October for Octoberfest at the Convention Center. The first year I went I wasn't excited to hear that they stayed in the Motel 6. But it was right across the street and none of us would be in any condition to drive anywhere. To my surprise it was actually... more

We stayed here for two nights in Sep 06. The room was very basic, other than towels there was only an ice bucket and two cups. We never received maid service. The website is deceiving. They charge you per adult when you arrive. When we checked in the clerk was friendly enough, but the phone never stopped ringing and she... more

This was the best Motel 6 I've ever stayed in, it was clean and comfortable, no frills, however if you want a nice, clean, inexpensive place to spend a couple of nights, this is the place, the only negative I had to say was we had very loud upstairs guest, and we heard them stomping on the floor. but overall,... more

I have stayed at this motel many times and have always found it to be clean and comfortable. It is dog-friendly and very near some great hiking trails. Reasonable restaurants are close by. However, many teenage sports groups use this motel and it can be noisy at times. The staff, especially Brenda, is very helpful and friendly. If you're looking... more

This motel left a LOT to be desired. Granted, it is a lower end motel, but I do expect a clean room. Our smelled so awfully of cigarettes (we got a non-smoking room complete with an ash tray with ashes still in it!) that I had to wash everything in our bags once we got home because it stunk. The... more

I take my family up to Big Bear every year and we always stay at the Motel 6. The motel is clean, inexpensive ($55/night), and conveniently located next to a snow-play area. Book your reservations early (2-months ahead), as the rooms sell out early during ski season. ADVICE...check-in as early as possible because their is usually a LONG line after... more
