This hotel was recommended by a friend of mine who stayed there while visiting her son at UCLA. The room was clean, somewhat stylish, and quiet. As previous reviewers have noted, the Hilgard House is a very comfortable place to stay. My room had a small patio and a good-size writing table. There was also a small fridge. This small (55 rooms), unpretentious, charming inn is a good inexpensive choice if looking for simple accomodations near UCLA. The place does not try to be anything other than what it is.
