Stayed here a year ago, and a lot has changed since then. When we arrived, one out of the two elevators was broken. Then we wanted to go downtown by their courtesy shuttle, and the van was being repaired...even though there was one sitting in the parking lot. So they told us we could take other transportation and keep the... more

Went up to the room on the 9th floor and thought we were in a parking garage - there was a small, dark hallway and then the rooms were motel-style - with 10 floors! It was a little bit scary walking outside that high up. The room was fine - although the deadbolt on the door didn't lock and there... more

This is an aging structure that could use some work. From the lock on the door (magnetic strips that neutralized daily and had to be remade each day) to the nominally non smoking room with the unmistakable scent of years of nicotine permeating the carpets and wallpaper. The AC never worked - luckily the weather was cool. Even from my... more

The hotel was, nice. There is no continental breakfast of any sort. You have to buy individual meals from their restaurant, I didn't feel like spending the extra cash so we didn't eat there. It was moderately priced. The beds have pillow top mattresses and that was VERY nice, they even have a "pillow menu" if you need a certain... more

I hate to criticize a budget hotel where the staff does try. Some things going well for this hotel: a) convenient in/off the highway b) friendly night staff c) Holiday Inn cares about overall appearance. But I wouldn't stay here again. I was there on business looking for a good deal convenient to the border. IF I came again, I... more

Agree with the previous reviewer. Our family of 4 stayed here for 2 nights early April. We chose this hotel due to the reasonable rate and because it is part of the Holiday Inn chain (we have had consistently good experiences at Holiday Inns). The neighbourhood of National City is not great, it is definitely not a tourist destination, but... more

The staff was very friendly. The parking was free and easy. The room was kept very clean and had a microwave and refrigerator. High speed wired internet access was free. The location was incredibly convenient to I-5 and the trolley. The hotel has all outdoor hallways, which gets pretty breezy on the upper floors. The hotel has 10 floors which... more

I've travelled to the San Diego area in September of the last two years and stayed here both times. When i did my research, i had a hard time finding somewhere economical AND convenient in San Diego. Most hotels charged for parking, which was an added expense i didnt want. In addition, i planned on travelling a little bit (road... more

Was having a hard time locating affordable hotel in San Diego. Pulled up to the Holiday Inn and from the outside entrances was not expecting much. What a great surprise, rooms were newly remodeled, decorated like a Sheraton, soft mattresses and enough pillows to feel pampered. They had free internet, room service was affordable, close to downtown and I-5. What... more

I wasn't expecting much from a hotel this close to the Naval Station and ended up being pleasantly suprised. The staff was very nice, the beds were very comfortable and the rooms very clean. They are currently remodeling but should be done soon. All rooms open to an outside balcony/passageway and I had a great view of the bay. The... more
