Based upon the other reviews I almost didnt book this place. Howvere I was VERY happy I did. The drive in made me a bit wary as it is very urban and near the light rail so there were a few street people about but where the hotel is located is decent. The front desk gentleman was very cordial and... more

Great location, price ($79) and most of all clean and fairly quiet. Nicely functional and decorated room with hairdryer, iron, nice wall art and furniture & comfy bed. Also, a very nice continental breakfast. It was fun to walk to historic buildings in downtown. We'd stay here again in a second. Stayed 8/18/07. PS: I use reviews like this one... more

My stay at this hotel was horrible, from before I got there until the night I left. I was in Sacramento to take the California Bar Exam, which is stressful enough. However, the staff at this hotel is clearly clueless as to what guest service means, except, of course for the breakfast staff and housekeeping. Prior to arrival I spoke... more

I chose this hotel for a conference because it wasn't anywhere near $289 per night! For $79 per night it was within easy walking distance to the Hyatt Regency (although I wouldn't walk the area alone at night). The room, including the bathroom, was very clean and modern and superior for this price. The king bed was one of the... more

We needed a less expensive alternative to the Hyatt Regency at $150/night so we booked this property for $99/night. Other posters have mentioned $79 but that was rate was not available for our dates. Tip #1: Ask for a poolside room which is on the interior of the building. Otherwise, you will hear traffic noise from the streets since all... more

A bit run down. Renovations were going on - no noticeable contruction noise. Comfy beds, clean room, front desk was helpful but not overly friendly. Had a nicely located room with slider to pool. Walls a little thin: could hear voices, TV, and coughing. Super handy to state capitol grounds, Old Town Sacramento and bike path. No road noise. A... more

My girlfriend and I needed a place to stay near downtown - we wanted to be able to walk from the hotel. This place was just about a mile to Harlows (the club we were going to) and less than a mile to much of downtown. The room (204) was big for an average room. The king bed was comfortable... more

Best Western Sutter House is an older, 1960's-style motel that is better inside than it looks from the outside. The exterior is dated and a bit worn, but the rooms were clean, spacious and well-kept. The location is good: close to downtown and Old Sacramento, on a lesser-traveled street. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance, including a brew... more

Extremely comfortable room looking onto swimming pool. Breakfast was billed as 'de-luxe' but I would only describe it as average, and had to be transported to room or pool area for consumption. Pool area was well-kept and we enjoyed use of pool after a day's sightseeing. Receptionist advised against walking from Downtown or Old Sac after dark, but light rail... more
