This place was just okay. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly, and the room was updated with granite and new floors. The bed was pretty comfortable, and we had clean towels and shampoo. However, this place was a tad pricey for such an old motel and is right on a busy stretch of road and therefore very... more

I have never met a motel owner or operator more gracious and hospitable than Ann -- and the Twin Lakes beach a block away is a dream. We had a studio (#7) and the room was beautifully appointed -- clean, redone wood floors, tasteful granite surfaces, tiny but useable kitchenette, good feel, good shower, comfortable bed. Great taste. We got... more

We stayed here our last night in California, and Pelican Point was one of our favorites. You drive into a pretty basic motel but then open the door to a beautiful suite (and they're all suites, it turns out). By far the nicest kitchen and bath of our trip. And we stayed at some pretty upscale places. We ended up... more

We stayed there for just one night. At first they put us in a suite (#10) with separate bedroom behind the office. It was a very odd layout and the noise from the office was clear as a bell. When we moved in (late afternoon) I went to put food in the fridge and it was fully stocked. Turns out... more

The Pelican Point Inn was a very refreshing hotel experience in Santa Cruz. As Santa Cruz is one of my favorite places to visit, I've stayed at a few hotels and let's just say that Santa Cruz isn't know for it's hotels! Most are over priced and a bit on the grungy side. Not the Pelican Point Inn! It's super... more

You pull up and it's a roadside inn, in the old school style. BUT: the rooms are remodeled with bamboo hardwood floors, kitchenettes with marble counter-tops, and very nice furniture and area rugs. The inn is one block from the Pacific Ocean (a beautiful public State Park Beach). The inn is incredibly clean, the the hosts show fantastic hospitiality. I... more

We stayed at the Pelican Point Inn last week and I would like to express how happy we were with the motel and the management. We traveled from San Diego to San Francisco (up the Pacific Coast) and stayed at a different area each night. The Pelican is a great bargain. It is very clean, has a kitchen, living room... more

This review is regarding a home that is owned by the same management as the Pelican Point Inn. The management (Ann) was a pleasure to work with. We went to Santa Cruz to participate in the Big Kahuna Triathlon and rented the home. It is located in Aptos, CA - very close to Santa Cruz and Capitola, and is a... more
