After bidding and bidding for about 2 weeks, finally just gave in to Priceline's 2-Star options, and got this HoJo's at about $105/night. [For those that are familiar with [--]'s bidding feature, believe me - I started at $50/night and worked my way through all options until this was really the bottom line..] Seemed a bit steep for something 2-Star,... more

We weren’t sure what to expect due to some of the reviews but we took our chances anyways and everything was wonderful. When you first arrive you walk into a comfortable lobby with leather couches and internet work stations. Check in was fast and within minutes we were in our room. When we finally got down to the room we... more

Just returned from 3 wks in New England, staying at hotels by several of the well known chains - Best(sic) Western, Holiday Inn, Sheraton & Doubletree. Stayed at two 'HoJos' including 1 night at this one. (Middletown RI was the other). To be honest, we had relatively low expectations compared with the other chains but have to say both hotels... more

We would not stay at this hotel again. The corner of the floor by the tub in our bathroom had black mold. I took a tissue and gave it a rub to see if would come off and it would. I then went to the front desk where they seemed amazed that there would be mold in the room. They... more

We stayed here for 1 night. I must say we hadn't stayed at a HoJo in many years, and I had a somewhat negative impression of the chain. But this one exceeded our expectations. Anywhere in New England in July is very expensive, but we got 2 rooms here for about $80/night each, using coupons in the travelers' books they... more

Howard Johnson's is the type of hotel that reminds me of my grandfather's days as a traveling salesman for Proto tools. It has some of that old school charm: high ceilings in the lobby, multiple newspapers available for free for guests, two sinks in the room, very friendly front desk staff (and two of them there at 11:00 p.m. on... more

My family and I stayed here August 10,2004. It was clean, roomy, friendly and well maintained. The rooms were comfortable and roomy. The pool was a good size for the kids, though the exercise room had very little ventilation. The connection to the Yankee Grill restaurant was nice, as was the morning breakfast buffet. (the 7-11 across the street was... more
