Just returned from a 4 day trip to Reno. We stayed at the Fitzgeralds Hotel and Casino. We chose this hotel for the lower rates and availability of rooms. I have to say I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but I was plesantly surprised. True it is an older hotel/casino, but we found our room... more

The Fitzgerald's Hotel in downtown Reno is run down and outdated. The rooms are badly outdated, the TV is tiny and only gets a few channels, the amenities are lacking, and worst of all are the elevators. Two out of three of the elevators were not working in the 16 story hotel. This means long, long waits to get into... more

I read many reviews about Fitzegeralds that made it sound rather unpleasant... we were not being terribly particular, as we just needed a decent place to crash while enjoying a long weekend in Reno. I booked online through hotels.com and got really good rates- like $68 a night through the weekend! Anyway, I was very pleased with the room; it... more

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel twice. On the downside, the hotel is in need of a facelift. The furnishings and decor do show their age. However, there are many positive aspects to the hotel as well. The rooms are large and have always been well cleaned. The price is right and the location is great if you... more

I stayed at Fitzgerald's for one night in the middle of February. I was able to book a mini suite for $72. The room was clean with a nice view but man has the casino changed! I have stayed at Fitzgerald's numerous times over the last few years and have always enjoyed the slot selection. They have new owners and... more

After reading some bad reviews lately at the Fitz, we were a little worried about staying there Feb. 4-5-6. They sent a van to pick us up at the airport(which is a new perk) and we had a good time there. We had no problem with heat or water and had a couple great meals at Limericks. Everyone was very... more

I have stayed often at the Fitz (the free and/or discounted room offers come often with relatively little play required), but I think my most recent visit will be my last. The rooms are clean, but they're dull and outdated -- especially the tiny TVs that only get about six channels and the terrible shower pressure. The casino dealers are... more

I booked two nights at Fitzgeralds because of the proximity to the Pioneer Events Center. What a disappointment. My husband and I expected a more '60's decor, but this place is very neglected. The room was clean and the personell were friendly, but that couldn't detract from the lack of amenities or a cold shower. With airline security being what... more

On December 21 at the end of day I made reservation over the web using Fitzgeralds hotel website, after called to hotel for conformation and got conformation number. On December 22 checked-in with my family around 6PM smoothly. Room was cold, turn heat on – no heat. Turn hot water on – no hot water. Went back to the front... more

We stay at the Fitz a lot in Reno, they always comp a room or give it to you for dirt cheap. Just join their slot club. And that is still great. There is new ownership though. They changed the Limerick's meal comp and it is no longer valid on Saturdays. Well, they could have told us this when we... more
