this hotel usually has discounted rooms on various websites such as hotwire. for the price, it's a very good value. the rooms are very large and comfortable. even though i booked the room on hotwire, i asked for a room on a higher floor for the view and they put me on the top floor! the hotel room was quiet... more

The Sands in INEXPENSIVE! One of the best bargains in Reno. It is conveniently located for transportation, has a casino, and has ample parking. I've stayed here 10 times over the last decade. The rooms are always clean (some are noisy), the bathrooms functioning, some room views spectacular. But come only for the inexpensive room. The best restaurant, a rib... more

Customer service is not their forte! Stayed there serveral times in the past 2 years. We keep thinking they will get better, well NO MORE Chances!! On the last time we stayed there, they had a private party in the space between Mel's and the Casino floor. Security would not let us pass through and they did not set up... more

Weather forced an unplanned night in Reno and I reluctantly called the Sands for a room. I'd stayed several times before and promised I'd never stay again. Rooms were worn out, there were rowdy parties, the trains horns blew through the night and the check-in was a long wait. Since they've been bought by Terrible's, everything seems to have improved.... more

Our friends book our reservations several weeks in advance so that we could get rooms on the same floor. Our friends had a lodging coupon, however the reservation desk clerk would not honor the coupon for the two reservations, even though it did not state on the coupon that it would be for one room only! There were other people... more

I stayed at the casino for the first time, first time I ever traveled without my family. I stayed there because travelworm found me a really good rate. I was there alone I went to see my new grandbaby they live in Reno. I was outside using the cell phone because reception was only good outside the casino. I looked... more

Returned to the Sands this year because the $17 a night rate (yes, really, $17 a night) could not be beat! I go to ski and the Sands offers free pick up at the airport, has a ski rental shop attached to their building and sells discounted lift tickets at the front desk. The rooms are dated but clean and... more

We had a nice, clean room with a king bed for 2 nights and were pleased with our stay. The large room could have used an easy chair but we made do with the cafe table and twin stools. Rooms are basic and not swanky and are dimly lit but otherwise no complaints - everything was clean, comfy, and in... more

For being as old as it is, Sands Regency is a Grand Old Gal...The price is reasonable, the rooms large and comfortable and the staff knowledgeable and friendly. My wife and I stay at the Sands whenever we are in Reno and on our last visit we requested a "quiet" room which is considered to be any room above the... more

I have been going to the Sands for a few years now and I have to say that the people who work it the casino are very hard working people. I have got to know so many of them, that I can really consider them more than aquintance, but friends. I have never had a bad stay. Even when the... more
