Supposed to be one of Pittsburgh's finer hotels, but we were disappointed. We stayed here with a wedding group and had the worst room of all the guests we knew. It was small with one window which faced a parking garage (called a "city view"), not very clean (I think that was popcorn on the floor), missing complementary toiletries, had... more

My wife and I stayed at Renaissance Pittsburgh on August 29-31, 2008. It's a grand old hotel right in downtown Pittsburgh. Our room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. Hotel restaurant is a bit overpriced but it's not a problem as there are many restaurants around (e.g., 6 Penn - really good food; lots of pubs across the bridge by... more

We spent our honeymoon night here, thanks to a gift from some of our aunts and uncles. We were very excited to be staying in a nice hotel downtown, especially one with such a nice view of the river. We arrived and were very impressed by the lobby and the overall atmosphere. Our room was nice and the view spectacular.... more

The Renaissance is a beautiful property in an excellent, easy to find location downtown. Parking was relatively inexepensive at the public parking garage directly across the street. (It's normally $5/day on the weekends, but there were "special events" so they charged $5 to get in, and $5 to get out + NO in/out priveleges.) Our room on the 6th floor,... more

We went up to Pittsburgh to meet up with a friend: it was about a half-way point between where we live. The Renaissance seems like the best deal in Pittsburgh, by far. The hotel was in an older, gorgeous building. The lobby was stunning and our room was massive and incredibly comfortable (a huge bathroom too!). We couldn't have asked... more

It's a nice hotel but this time around the bathroom was very dirty, maybe housekeeping was just slacking off. The location of the hotel is very convenient and easy to reach. Apart from dirty bathroom, I had a pleasant stay. more

When we walked into the lobby for the first time the grand staircase was breathtaking. The old architecture was beautiful. We got into the room quicker that we thought about 12:30 PM The employees were very cordial, helped out if we needed anything, and was always available, We had a King size bed and it was very comfortable. Had plenty... more

Very impressed with our stay. Got a good room rate via Priceline and there were no major issues. Check in clerk was superb, very helpful and gave us a nice King room with partial river view. Had to wait 30 minutes for the room to be ready and clerk gave us a complimentary drink at the bar due to the... more

Jeez. An absolutely beautiful hotel, it's just too bad the staff sucks. I booked on Priceline and when my room did not have two beds, I was subjected to a half an hour lecture about how I should not book through Priceline, and how the hotel does not like when guests book through Priceline. They were condescending and made me... more
