Ok, here is the real deal with The Caravelle.....It used to be a nice hotel 25 years ago when my family first started staying there. The rooms are nice (after the renovations) but they skimped on things like new faucets in the showers and some of the grouting is gross etc. The rooms are not the problem however, it is... more

We just returned from a four night stay (June 18-22). With only one fire alarm....at 5am. The real problem was our room (#203) in the main tower, two of the nights we were awaken to the sound of a "Jack-Hammer". The noise seemed to come form the water pipes when the adjacent room would use the shower and/or hot water.... more

My husband and I were excited to take our 7 yr old son to the Caravelle when we booked our stay for June 14th-21st 2008. We checked out the new renovations via website and were pumped for our vacation. Needless to say, we were shocked! I awoke on an early sun morning burning up, we had no electricity!! We had... more

My family just got back from a promotional time share stay through the Wyndham resorts and we chose the Caravelle for our lodging. Pros: Great location with tons of nearby restaurants, shops, attractions and beach. We had a GPS so we were able to find exactly what we wanted without wasting gas driving around. But the hotel has all you... more

My family stayed at the Caravelle from June 15-20 2008 in an oceanfront efficiency. We had stayed at the hotel about two years ago about the time the renovations were supposedly being finished. On our previous stay we had found the hotel to be a bit rough around the edges as the renovations were not nearly complete as we had... more

Thank you for your feedback and the nice comment regarding our employee, Kimberly. We at the Caravelle try very hard to make sure all of our customers are safe and secure while on vacation with us. We are sorry we did not meet your expectations. We have forwarded your elevator comments to the proper people to review any issues there....

We just stayed June 11-15, 2008 . This is a nice hotel for parking and clean rooms, the pool though was another story. Beach goers would lay towels on chairs so they would have a place to lay when they were done at the beach that just was not cool. People throwing footballs to each other while in the pool(dangerous... more

My wife and I decided to stay a the Caravelle for our first return to Myrtle Beach in 8 years. Upon check in, we found our ocean view room to be right above the pool area. (Although they have pools designated adult and children's - mark my words - they're ALL children's pools.) Our first night was "Movie Night" at... more

We sincerely apologize for the fire alarms going off during your visit with us. Unfortunately, we were unable to find the person and/or persons who were pulling the fire stations. While we increased our security and notified our staff to be attentive these efforts were to no avail. The "Kids Movie Night" has traditionally been a popular evening for families...

I enjoyed our stay at The Caravelle. We were there for a wedding so we didn't have much time to check out all of the amenities. They do have a good area for the kids to play near the pool and they have two lazy rivers one is for toddlers. The room was nice and the bathroom was decent size.... more
