Excellent food, friendly service and comfortable rooms doesn't quite say enough. The restaurant really aims high and approaches "The French Laundry" in many respects. Although the food quality was equal, some of the small details weren't yet quite as refined . However, the overall service, the low key ambiance and the adjacent lodging made the Peat Inn a more enjoyable... more

Really enjoyed everything about our meal here, the two of us were very well looked after and the food was wonderful and very local. The recommendations for us to go here were right on the spot. Presentation was outstanding and the wine list very good. more

Service was very attentive, the interior is a perfect setting for dinner, the extremely well cooked food was nicely presented (a tad too much on the small side), the amuse gueule was tepid (a handful of mushroom soup) but full of taste. Wine list is extensive & orientated on French and expensive whereas other areas are represented with very small... more

This was our second attempt to stay at the Peat Inn, as we had booked an earlier weekend which had to be aborted when they discovered that they had double booked us, much to our annoyance. However, the owners did agree to hold their winter rates open to us for a rescheduled weekend and provide a glass of pre dinner... more

Just returned from a surprise birthday present to the Peat inn. We could only make it for one night unfortunatley otherwise would have been happy to take up their current offer of 3 nights for the price of 2. We stayed in one of the suites, a split level room with Bed and bathroom on the ground floor and a... more

My husband and I spent a night here to as a Valentine's treat. Both the accommodation and food were fantastic and the service second to none. We both left feeling extremely relaxed. We opted for the luxury break which, although expensive, means that you get a few extra touches making the stay even more enjoyable. On arrival we were shown... more

Just marvellous. In itself this would be a delightful rural spot, with very comfortable, well-appointed suites, the restaurant however is just wonderful. The staff clearly know what they're doing, the service is excellent, the food magnificent, the atmosphere is as informal as you can expect given that most people are there for a special occasion. It also manages to be... more

To celebrate my wife's birthday we stayed for one evening in October 2007. The food was fantastic and the acommodation was very comfortable. The quality of service was excellent, without the usual fuss providing a six course vegetarian tasting menu for my wife. Its not cheap but if you are looking for fantastic quality food this is well worth a... more

The Peat Inn is truly marvelous. Effectively it is classed as a restaurant with rooms rather than somewhere you would simply go to stay a few nights. At £165 per couple including breakfast it is not cheap but actually when you consider the rates charged by the likes of The Craws Nest in Anstruther not that expensive for what you... more

We stayed at this hotel for two nights following two nights at Minmore House Glenlivet (Minmore was superb). The Peat Inn was an interesting mix! The accommodation (on split level) was excellent as was the breakfast which was served in our room. The ladies who served breakfast were delightful...very friendly...very helpful and made up for the lack of welcome from... more
