Excellent food, service and elegant setting. We stayed at another hotel but dined here - too bad we didn't stay as well. Well worth the price. more

This was a surprise for my birthday from my husband and the whole experience was absolutely memorable. We arrived to freindly staff and a welcoming, comfortable, clean room. The food was first class and the service was fantastic. In particular the head waiter managed to pitch his attention just right, neither over fussy, but obviously in control. They were extremely... more

My wife and I are regular visitors to this hotel and we love it so much we even got married here. This year, we opted for their Christmas package and it was excellent. It's like a home from home for us, the staff are always welcoming and friendly but never intrusive. LOCATION - Cannot be faulted, lovely view toward the... more

We arrived and were upgraded to the turret room(hotel was quiet),perfect Scottish decor and attention to detail. The views from the hotel across portree bay are stunning and distance from town is just enough to feel seclusion but not too far to walk. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was very good and the quiet dining room ambience was perfect... more

First, the good bits. The location is superb with stunning views over the water. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The food is pretty good too. If only they were content with just being a comfy, relaxing hotel. But no, they've gone and ruined it all by trying to be posh! With its twee Scottish decor and Celtic elevator music... more

The Cuillin Hills has a superb location. It overlooks Portree Bay and is just a few minutes walk to the centre of Portree. We had a four-poster room which looked out across the Bay which was very relaxing. The public rooms also have areas overlooking the bay . The check-in at the hotel is efficient and you are given assistance... more

Well, actually there is. The view from the front lawn of the Cuillin Hills and Portree harbour is absolutely breathtaking. But what about the hotel itself? I see other reviews are quite generous so let me hasten to add that we had no complaints, nobody was rude, staff were helpful, nothing was broken or dirty and the rooms were comfortable... more

I stayed for one night. There are only a few hotel choices in Portree, the remainder being bed and breakfast. Cuillin Hills is a pleasant 10 minute walk from the center of town. It was well kept, and staff is very helpful. My single room was adequate, clean, comfortable (though small) and functional, and the bathroom was quite large by... more

We stayed in the premier room with large bay window and the view was amazing. Room was very spacious, with equally generous bathroom. Four poster bed and thick carpets – no noise from anywhere else. Our booking was all inclusive (DB&B) and the Restaurant was very nice with a good menu that changed daily. Attentive service, very good quality food... more
