We stayed two nights at the Portree hotel in a room on the front side overlooking Somerled Square and immediately overlooking the Camanachd bar. Pre booked a double and reiterated this on arrival, got a twin. And it was absolutely tiny - there was barely enough space to walk round the edges of the bed. Furniture was old and tatty. Beware of deliberate overbooking by the management of the Portree Hotel to the Isles Inn, a few yards further down the same Somerled Square. Both places have the same owner, and the accomodation in the Isles Inn is bad and unhygienic. Staff is unfriendly and cold. This place and the Portree's Hotel management can ruin your holidays in Scotland! more
