My husband and I stayed at 200 South Street Inn in mid-August. The location was great - just 2 blocks from downtown C'ville. Beautiful old house with a great wraparound porch. We had room 8 which was fairly expensive. Downsides: the bathroom tub/shower area needed updating. Also, that part of town is RIGHT in front of the train tracks, so... more
The 200 South Street Inn is a beautiful establishment made up of two historic buildings in downtown Charlottesville. As the inn wasn't completely full the night that we stayed there our room was upgraded at no additional charge. Wine and cheese is served from 5-7pm in what looked to be the "library" of one of the buildings. Our room was... more
Had a great stay at the South Street Inn. The inn is full of interesting antiques, has delicious wine and cheese in the late afternoons, and a scrumptious breakfast with homemade coffee cakes, fruits, cereals, etc. Just off the downtown mall, so surrounded by great shops, restaurants, concerts at the Pavilion, movies. We have stayed here 3 times now, and... more
Thank you! We thoroughly enjoyed hosting you!
We loved Southstreet! My wife and I had a week after we got married before our honeymoon overseas, but wanted a quick, quiet getaway, and we found exactly that at SouthStreet. When we alerted them it was our first stay after the wedding, they upgraded us on the spot to a cottage suite for no extra charge. The room itself... more
We reserved room 14 on the first floor. The first floor was an exposed basement level. When entering the hallway, I had to run out of the house because of the mold. The young lady helping us, kindingly rearranged for us to have a room on the floor up. After spending one night, I realized from my allergy symptoms that... more
This guest did not inform us in advance to her severe allergies. We upgraded her to a suite at no charge, the room that she stayed in was given to her at a fraction of the cost. Every room is thoroughly cleaned seven days a week first by housekeeping then checked by management. We made every effort to accommodate this...
I love this place for the large rooms and the grandeur of the home...Also, it's like staying with old friends when the Innkeepers are so gracious to you.... breakfast goodies are delicious and they serve a beautiful wine and cheese and appetizer get-together in the evening which can be fun-- you get to meet the other guests, who are usually... more
Very nice place. Lovely cheese/wine and fruit from 5-7; very nice continental breakfast. Rooms very beautifully decorated. It is less than 2 miles from the university/hospital, and 2 blocks from the renovated pedestrian downtown area. Would definitely stay here again. more
200 South Street Inn is a lovely place on a quiet street not far from most of main attractions in downtown Charlottesville (and very convenient to places like Monticello, area wineries, etc.) The staff was very friendly, the continental breakfast was sumptuous, and the wine & cheese reception was very nice. Our room (#22) was small, but the bathroom was... more
Lovely! The room had a very elegant decor. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We met several people who return to the Inn quite frequently. Wine and cheese is served in the evening and breakfast in the morning. The Inn is located within walking distance to the pedestrian mall and close to the Trolley stop. I will definitely refer... more
