I have nothing negative to say about the stay at the Inn. The only bad thing was we didnt stay there long enough! Tim & Jamie's hospitality is second to none! the lodge is huge the rooms are big. Hot tubs on the deck is great along with the spacious bathrooms. The chef 's food is awesome even through a... more

Spent last weekend at House Mountain. Could not have asked for better lodging, scenery, food and attention. Each room is unique; our room had a fireplace and jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Some have hot tub on balconey. Rooms and bathrooms on first floor are spacious and wheelchair accessible. The view of mountains takes your breath away but the best... more

My husband and I visited in April and we're still talking about our trip. This lodge is managed by the most delightly family--the service is excellent. Rooms are beautiful, views are awesome. Make sure to eat in the dining room because the food is wonderful. Hike to the "look-out" they have built in the mountain--it is a view you won't... more

We are finishing up the last night of our stay as I compose this review. I must say that I tend to be very picky about where I stay and I expect the quality of service to match what I pay. My expectations have certainly been met with House Mountain Inn. I read the reviews of others and it seemed... more

Rockbridge County is one of the most beautiful, rural places left in Virginia. House Mountain Inn itself, tucked right into Big House Mountain, is a traditional mountain lodge, that doesn't try to compete with the reason it was built where it is - to allow guests find a place among the trees or the sky to recall who you want... more

This is a great place to stay when you want to relax and have a great time. The lodge and the rooms are beautiful and everyone is very helpful and nice. The meals, which are cooked in their onsite restaurant, are delicious. The inn is close to Lexington and only a few minutes away from the Horse Center. The family... more

My husband and I stayed at the House Mountain Inn 8/15-8/19 and this was by far the best getaway we have ever had. This trip was meant to be our anniversary trip and 2nd honeymoon. This trip turned out to be even better than our actual honeymoon! The Irvine's are the most accomodating and gracious people. They have done a... more

We stayed at House Mountain Inn August 4-6, 2006 along with family in for a visit. The Inn's website provides a very accurate picture of what the property and Inn look like. The Inn itself is Colorado hunting/ski lodge in style and feel, great for us, being from Colorado originally. Our rooms, adjoining on the second floor, were dead quiet.... more

The location is spectacular and the room we stayed in (suite) was superb. The family is most accomodating and we had a good restful stay. But, there are a few things to be aware of when you book. 1. There is only one trail for hiking, horse back riding and recreational vehicles. The trail has a fairly steep uphill, the... more

My wife and I desperately needed rest. We found it in their wonderful beds, peaceful atmosphere, and beautiful inn. We desperately needed to be taken care of, which without saying a word happened in every way, by a staff who all have a heart to serve. We desperately needed to get away. We now know where to go when we... more
