this is a great budget hotel for a short trip to NY. its in a great location, 10 mins walk to the Empire State, go at night its beautiful 3 mins walk to Macys (ask for the 11% visitors discount card!) a subway station two steps from the door 15/20 mins walk to times sq and theatre district 10 mins... more

The Hotel Stanford is a beautiful hotel and in a very convenient location. It's a narrow building, but you enter into a very nice lobby with a lovely crystal lighting arrangement in the ceiling that sets the tone for a high-class hotel. There's just one small elevator, but there is also a narrow staircase if you don't want to wait.... more

As others have said it is a nice, clean hotel and being nearly nextdoor to the Empire State Building is in just the right place. The small downsides if I am being picky are just one lift, which gets very busy in the mornings. Breakfast, whilst adequate is not fantastic, bagels, rolls and cake - my gripe is no jam!... more
