The hotel is situated in Old Philadelphia, so it does require some walking to get to the main sites in the centre of the city. The hotel itself is a bit quirky. The desk staff are helpful and friendly but our first impression was of a slightly musty/stale atmosphere as we entered the building. The bedrooms are comfortable enough without... more

My wife and I, my daughter, son-in-law and 3 grandchildren spent 3 days and 2 nights at the Inn. The staff arranged for us to have 3 rooms on the top floor. The rooms were small but very clean as you would expect in this very elegant building near the historic district. The area is undergoing a significant change and... more

If you are looking for a hotel in Philadelphia, let your search stop here. The Alexander Inn was an awesome experience. From the first phone call to book the hotel I was amazed. The staff was very courteous and friendly and made us feel like family. Checking in was easy and the staff offered many suggestions and answered all my... more

We stayed at the Inn from June 26-29 and had a wonderful experience. Charming property, very friendly and helpful staff. We had a king room which was great- comfortable beds and pillows, great shower. The only improvement I can think of to make is I wish they had some kind of venting/fan in the bathroom. It got very hot and... more

Stayed at this small hotel at the beginning of June - there was a great mix of friendly gay and straight people. We had a double double room on a corner which I highly recommend. Free pastries and fruit available all day plus 2 free internet computers. It was a very safe neighbourhood and we felt fine about walking back... more

How wonderful to find a hotel that's actually nicer than you hoped. Staff are helpful and pleasant; the rooms are well designed and attractive; everywhere you look this hotel delivers more then you expect. We stayed here when my daughter started med school in Phili, and have never been tempted to try anywhere else. Inexpensive without making you feel cheap! more

Review: Outstanding – both for value and convenience. Stay dates: May 5 - 8, 2008 We stayed 4-days and loved the place. Except for the room size, which is small, the hotel is clean and the cleaning staff does a good job. We would recommend it to anyone who is on a budget but still wants to be in and... more

I love this hotel!!! It was perfect! We checked in & were greeted with smiling faces and everyone was very helpful. They had great suggestions for food & places to visit in the area (walking distance). It's only 6 blocks to Independence Hall and very safe feeling about the area it's in. The room was just wonderful. Nothing super huge... more

The Alexander Inn is not a luxury hotel, but is a comfortable and welcoming inn in a quaint neighborhood. This small hotel is in a great location if you want to experience staying in a great neighborhood rather than a crowed business or tourist district. Great neighborhood restaurants. There is also plenty to do nearby and within walking distance. There... more
