We had a wonderful stay for 2 nights. The staff were very friendly & helpful; the continental breakfast excellent. WIFI is free. Morris House Hotel, built as a home in the 1780s, was converted to a small inn with 15 rooms several years ago. The Hotel has 2 or 3 buildings centered around a large courtyard. I think the original... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Morris House Hotel and loved it, the rooms were beautiful and full of charm. Our room was on the street side and it was still so quite! Breakfast was great we ate once in the dinning room and we also had it brought the room, that was really nice! The only thing that... more

My wife and I stayed for two nights in mid-Oct, 2007 in room 304 (a luxury room). We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The room was much larger and better accommodated than we'd been led to believe, which is a rare treat. I think their website does them a disservice in this regard. The staff was extremely helpful and... more

We have stayed in many hotels and B&B's in Philadelphia and feel that The Morris House offers comfortable accommodations and good value in an attractive and convenient setting. Our room was quite large with several comfortable chairs and a large bathroom. The decor was pleasing and appropriate for the period of the building. The young woman who checked us in... more

My boyfriend and I were going into Philly for a night on South Street (which isn't a far walk away). There is a parking garage right across the street from the inn. Parking isn't cheap but convenient. The hotel was nice and quite. No elevators which was perfectly ok with us. As soon as we walked into the inn, it... more

Stayed at the Morris house for 2 nights in one of their suites. This was my second trip to the Morris House, my first trip was blurred by getting sick. Arrived early and was able to put luggage in our suite. The suite was nice with a living room/small kitchen area and a wonderful bathroom with a shower stall and... more

We stayed in room 502, Large Extended Suite. It is not in the main building, but rather across the garden in the building that houses the restaurant. It is a large room, but don’t expect any of the charm that you’ll see in the pictures of the rooms posted on their website. It is decorated in IKEA clearance sale items.... more

If I'm ever anywhere near Philadelphia, you can bet I'll stay at the Morris House. Pleasant staff, beautiful quarters. And the beds were so comfortable! I've stayed there twice now, once in the suite adjoining, and once on the 3rd floor. Now I've got to warn you, there is no elevator, so lugging your suitcase up 3 flights of stairs... more

My room was spacious and nicely furnished. The best thing was the bed – by far the softest, most comfortable hotel bed I've ever experienced. Simply heaven for someone like me who tends to find hotel beds insufferably hard. That would be reason enough for me to return. The breakfast, though, is another matter. I felt cheated by the ridiculously... more

We used to live a few blocks from the Morris House, so on a recent return trip to Philadelphia we decided to revisit our old neighborhood and stay in the B&B for one night. It's a beautifully restored house that backs on to Washington Square and is within a five minute walk of the Liberty Bell. However, it's definitely not... more
