Kuhio village used to be a surfer hotel with few amenities, but it has undergone rennovation and is great! I found a room at VRBO.com and it was completely renovated and totally beautiful! The price was very affordable and the beach is only 2 blocks away. If you hated it once, try it again. VRBO.com #141279 was great! more

This was my first trip to hawaii, and unfortunately it was on a budget...initially i had been looking at hostels, until a friend recommended that I try some of the budget hotels instead... when i researched the aqua kuhio village, there were mixed reviews, some travellers loved it some hated it, but the hotel looked respectable on sites like Expedia,... more

Oh, the poor Kuhio Village… I have stayed here twice, one night each time--only because it was a cheap bed and I was passing through. On longer stays, I stay elsewhere. On both visits, the front desk crew was pleasant enough, but the rooms were basically unacceptable. The carpet was so dirty and sticky that I would not remove my... more

We had an amazing time.... Hotel is in a perfect location... two blocks from the beach, We felt very safe, hotel was clean, people were very friendly and very helpful... I never did see the guard sleeping like someone had said previously? Was very nervous about the hotel after reading what others had written. We didn't spend much time in... more

We like this place. Our group was staying at two other hotels, but relocated here after 2 nights due to noise (cars, people, construction, etc.). I was nervous about this place after reading the reviews on this website, but we were able to view a few rooms before making a commitment, and they all were acceptable (and different from each... more

This place has undergone a major overhaul since the last time I stayed. The lobby is 1000% improved and the hotel staff was very helpful. They seem to have really cracked down on criminal activity. It was nice, clean, peaceful and I felt safe. Great deal for the price! more

The old adage "You get what you pay for" is exemplified by a stay at Aqua Kuhio Village. My husband and I checked into this hotel expecting budget accomodations and even when the reception clerk was unfriendly and dismissive, we tried to reassure ourselves that we wouldn't be spending any time in the room anyway. Although this hotel is supposed... more

Dirty, smelly and noisy. The front desk staff is an incompetent bunch who couldn't care less. My reservation was made over the phone by my assistant. The front desk clerk hasn't had enough English lessons to understand the language, so she spelled my name wrong when she took the reservation. Of course, I was turned away from the hotel when... more

Aqua Kuhio Village was not at all what I expected. First of all..the parking lot sucks. it's such a steep incline that I couldn't get my Altima down or up without scraping the bottom of the car. There are only about 12 stalls available in the basement of the hotel. The lobby is tiny...just a counter off to the side... more
