Upon our last visit to Vancouver there was such a buzz about the wonderful sushi at Tojo's, at best it was mediocre. However, the service was very good which did compensate for the so so food. Their very high prices seem to go more toward the rent than the food. more

I had been to Tojo's many times when I use to live in Vancouver. It has been very well known in for high quality Japanese food. It has been a few years since I've been back and I wanted to go to Tojo's again especially at their new location. To my knowledge, the food has been consistently good as it... more
Very good sushi. Sit at the sushi bar and ask for the special. more
I had heard a lot about Tojo's and was expecting something really special - but was very disappointed. I had the omakase and found the dishes over-engineered with too many flavours masking the beautiful base ingredients. After living in San Francisco and Seattle for many years, I've had a lot of good and great sushi. Tojo's is expensive, but 100% worth it for a nice dinner out. I loved it! more
If you're into giving away your money for nothing, go to Tojo's! Beware, especially, of the much-hyped omakase menu -- six appetizers, then only three pieces of sushi per person, a slice each of four rolls -- and the sushi rice is cold -- then the check! This restaurant doesn't deserve its good reputation, and anyone who recommends it has... more
