If you want customer service, this is not the place. The food here is just average, so you'd think they would make up for it with good customer service. Not so! I'm local and have been here numerous times. I'm disappointed each time. Most recently, I went here on one of the few Olympia warm evenings. I came in at... more
The weather was nice so we ate outside as the sun was setting. Just don't look down at the water since it looks like most harbors I've experienced - junk and oil floating around. We both had the house New England clam chowder. It had a good flavor with their own twist on clam chowder. At least it wasn't thick... more
Inexperienced server, most of the menu is fried and overpriced AND served in baskets. I think the only reason people come here is for the view out back, but there are better options for waterfront dining in Olympia. more
We came down to Olympia to visit a relative for their official retirement. We came to the Oyster House during the day when it was hardly busy and sat out on the deck. Dont judge this resteraunt based on reviews from a year or more ago. Everyone was very helpful, and, although i had to wait 45 minutes for a table, it was well worth the wait! Oyster House is head and shoulders above most every other restraunt in this area and here are a few reasons why: the BEST Halibut & Chips you'll get anywhere in Washington; Canjun and Creole food that is very traditional and surprisingly... more
This was one of our favorite places in Olympia to get fish and chips, or oyster stew. Our last visit was dismal to say the least. We went early to avoid the dinner crowd and the service was slower than at peak meal time. The fish was dry and salty. The fries were so salty I can imagine what it... more
There are a lot better restaurants around: Water Street, Mercato, Anthony's. This place has the feel of a bar and serves pretty bad food. And the service isn't any better. It's too bad, because it's in a great location overlooking the water. more
I live in Olympia and would love to say that I am proud to have this restaurant in our downtown area but, I can't. I haven't been to The Oyster House for 7 years and today have been reminded why. From the hostess all the way through receiving the bill was absolutely miserable. Had I read the other reviews I... more
