We stayed at the Southampton Princess Dec 23-27. First of all, the hotel was packed with families for Christmas. The hotel was definatedly up to the challenge. If anything, the hotel was overstaffed during the holidays. There were helpful staff everywhere. There were many activities planned by the hotel. My wife went to a gingerbread house decorating class. There were lots of caroling events, events for kids with Santa, a Christmas Eve service held by a local church at the hotel (which was a highlight). There just could not have been any more planning. Our room was great, very spacious, clean and recently refurbished. The weather was great, so everyone was out at the beach and at the pool throughout the holidays. We had thought we would go into Hamilton to shop or rent scooters or jet skis but we did none of those things. We really did not want to leave the hotel because there was so much to enjoy inside and outside. I do not play golf, but the course was beautiful. I am a runner so there was beautiful scenery along the hotel road to enjoy. Food was very good, yet was more expensive than we had planned. There were lots of options for casual dining or fine dining. We ate lunch most every day by the pool and had a light dinner most every night in the large hotel bar with a great pianist.
It was the most relaxing Christmas we have ever had. We would certainly go back again at stay at the Southampton Princess.
