I stayed at the Clarion twice in one month, When I walked in Elizabeth greeted me by name immediately and welcomed me and my friends back. Security is great, you can relax in the hotel. when you arrive they give u a free massage and welcome drink, I was like WOW!!! Breakfasst was included and was very tasty each day, different choices each day. they have parking that is watched 24 hours by security and you walk right into the hotel from the 3rd floor. Its only a few minutes to the highway that takes you to the airport or boca chica, Conde is a 5 minutes away by car. The rooms are HUGE with kitchenettes. The manager saw i brought back other friends and she offered us a upgrade to a suite. I love this hotel and will always stay there when in santo domingo!!!!!!!

This is a hotel for business people ONLY. It's far from any of the few attractions Santo Domingo has to offer and the staff is not very friendly towards non-business travellers. They could not even provide a map of the city!!! The non-smoking floor was occupied by SMOKERS and stank of cigarette smoke. Also, it seemed that some hotel guests conducted 'business' from their room, ie people coming and going all through the night. It costs $10 US to get anywhere from the hotel and $40 to the airport. Not a vacation spot.

This was my first trip to the Dominican Republic and I wanted to be away from the all-inclusive resorts and to experience the people and culture of the DR. The Clarion is centrally located but not within walking distance of any of the attractions which are a short taxi ride away. However, service was impeccable - the staff seemed genuinely interested in making sure every guest was happy. This can be a challenge in a primarily business hotel that also has a very popular bar and is a hopping place on the weekends. Business center has 4 computers for guest use and a helpful staff. Nearly everyone speaks at least some English. Breakfast selections were different each day of my stay - another rarity in hotels these days. Great coffee, too. Complimentary guarded parking is in adjacent garage with entrance from a different street but signs are easy to follow. The small extra charge for a suite was well worth it. My only complaint was that the A/C was a bit noisy. Recommended for buisness or single traveler or romantic weekend (onsite spa); not a family destination.

I just got back from Dominican Republic, I stayed there for a week, the original plan was to stay there one night, due to wether conditions my flight was cancelled on wednesday 31st october, so I stayed there until yesterday, (november 7th) I am amazed with the warm, friendly and helpful staff they have there, everybody, sales, reservations, front office, F & B, bell boys... Really... everybody, I work for Marriott International, and I always stay at Marriott properties and this time because they have no room for us, we decide to go to Clarion (Choice Hotels) I am glad of my selection,
