Yep! It's true! We just got back a week ago, and I've already booked my return trip to the Coco. What a GREAT little resort!! The rooms weren't fancy, but VERY clean and well kept, the staff could not have BEEN more friendly and the grounds were beautiful. It's centrally located so you can walk anywhere you like (or even no where at all...the beach is BEAUTIFUL). My boyfriend and I liked it so much, we really never left...the beach bar there served GREAT food and COLD Red Stripes...we'd walk right next door to the For Real bar (their prices were the best), or sometimes down to Sea Splash or Margaritaville (yeah it's commercial, but we found the food to be delicious and we could watch the NBA Playoffs there). Down the other way, our favorite bar was 23-7...the owner Johnny is a New Yorker like myself and incredibly friendly...we spent a looooong time one evening just hanging out down there, and they have GREAT food as well. It's funny...initially we wanted to go out and party and do a fun bar night, but we got down to Roots (which was packed) and were in such "laid back" mode, we left and went over to 23-7 which was so chill. The only complaint I had was that it was overcast and rained almost everyday while we were there, but that was nobody's fault, and honestly, it didn't affect our vacation one bit...we still had a FABULOUS time and never really cared that it was raining, we loved hanging out on the balcony of our room and listening to tunes watching the rain come down (having a fridge in the room is great! we IMMEDIATELY stocked it with Red Strip and snacks when we got there!). I can honestly say that it was the BEST vacation i've ever had...the people in Jamaica are so warm and amazing and i can honestly say "i get it now". i understand why people keep going back...and yep, now i'm one of them!!

“Will be back”

We just returned from a wonderful one-week stay at CocoLaPalm.

Check in was a breeze. I don't even think it took 5 minutes and we were whisked away to our rooms.

Our rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. My only complaint was that the beds were a little hard but I still slept like a baby. The rooms came with refrigerators, irons, coffee makers, as well as a safe. The bathroom was very spacious. Our housekeeper was Carol and she did a fantastic job of keeping our room clean.

The staff (every one of them) was wonderful and always accomodating. The front office people were very friendly and patient in answering all of our questions. The groundskeepers were charming and always asked if we were enjoying our stay. One staff member in particular was very kind to us (Neville). He was a very honest and trustworthy young man and even accompanied some of the younger crowd to the Jungle nightclub one evening and then walked them back to the resort afterwards.

The location was excellent, right in the middle of the 7-mile beach. We always had our chairs set up right where we wanted. Security was excellent. If anyone approached us on the beach to buy anything, they were always right there supervising what was going on.

The beach area was spacious. The pools and hottub were always clean. The gardens were beautiful.

We had the breakfast vouchers, so we ate breakfast there every morning. It was always very good and the service was excellent. Otherwise, we didn't eat many meals there.

Across the street from CocoLaPalm is Mikey's Store, which came in very handy. We also found a driver by the name of Tallman who is located by Mikey's Store and he always gave us a great deal on transportation. He had a van, and since there were six of us, it worked out very well. Beside Mikey's Store is Best of the West, the best jerk chicken we have ever had. I'm craving it now!

I don't know what else to say, except thank you to all the employees at CocoLaPalm who made our stay so enjoyable. We were all teary-eyed when we had to leave. When it comes down to it, besides the beautiful resort, it was the employees who made our stay so enjoyable. We'll definitely be back.

“I loved my stay at Coco!”

I stayed at Coco May 24th through the 27th. The hotel is beautiful. The grounds are kept very nicely with beautiful trees and flowers. Check In was quick. We stayed in a deluxe room. The room are nice nothing spectaular. If you're looking for a nice clean room with a comfortable to bed, and you dont spend alot of time in the room, then this is the place. My only issue with the room were these tiny ants! They were just by the window. The hotel came and sprayed, they were too small to bother me. So in the middle of the premises there's a pool and hot tub. Both were clean and great. The beach is footsteps away from the rooms. Plenty of lounge chairs and space. Security was always around and I was only asked a few times from hustlers to buy things! The hotel is located somewhat in the middle of the beach. Perfect location to walk to both ends. Monday night was the managers cocktail party. The manager William, was around socializing and asking everyone about there stay. He was very friendly and helpful. There was a live reggae band and and good drinks. There was Rum Punch and White wine. This was a good time to meet other guests. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and hope to be returning quite soon.

“Beautiful Jamaica!”

CocoLaPalm Resort

We arrived on April 26th, 2008. We flew into Montego Bay and took TIM Air from Montego Bay to Negril. We highly recommend taking TIM Air instead of the 2 1/2 hour bus ride from Montego Bay to Negril. The flight was 17 minutes long! Well worth the $150.00 per person total!

We stayed at CocoLaPalm Resort. Our rooms were not the greatest by any means but they were livable. We stayed in the 800 block of rooms located at the front of the resort. We were right off of the parking lot and the main road so we did hear the traffic at night. If you will be staying at this resort, request to not be in the 800 rooms...all of the other rooms were very nice and had nice views and locations.

The staff at the hotel was wonderful and very friendly! Be sure to visit Michelle at the beach bar and have a Dirty Banana! They're the best!!

Each morning we ate breakfast at the restaurant at the hotel and it was well worth it! There were 4 of us total and we never spent more than $11.00 on breakfast for all of us! The hotel gives you breakfast vouchers which contributes $6.00 to each person's meal! The food was great and inexpensive!

We also ate the beach bar every day for lunch and had great sandwiches! We went to the restaurant at the hotel one night for dinner and had lobster thermidore! It was to die for!

You should definately attend the manager's reception for free appetizers and cocktails. They had a live reggae band playing and it was a lot of fun. Also, check out the beach party on Friday night. The band that night was awesome and we had a blast dancing and drinking!

The grounds at the hotel were beautiful and lush. They have 2 pools. One is located in the center of the hotel and one is right on the beach. We spent a lot of time in the beach pool because it is for adults only. We never had to share it with anyone! The resort also has a huge hot tub which is nice and relaxing at night!

The beach at CocoLaPalm is very nice and they have plenty of beach chairs and shade. They also have 2 security guards who walk the beach of CocoLaPalm to keep the peddlers away which is nice. We do, however, recommend buying fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh fruit from the beach peddlers...so good!

We had a blast at CocoLaPalm and in Negril itself! Definately make your way to Margaritaville which is only a few steps from the hotel. We went on a catamaran tour which took us snorkeling and cliff diving from Rick's Cafe and included lunch and drinks. The name of the company was Red Stripe Cruises and the cost was only $50/person. Totally worth it! We also went to Mayfield Falls which was something I will never forget! We walked and climbed and dove and swam through the water falls for 2 hours! If you need a cab to take you there or any where for that matter, ask for Tarman...he parks his van across the street from the resort...he's very nice!! You should also pay a visit to Donavan who sits on the beach in front of the pool and sells his hand-made carved crafts and jewelry. He's very nice and has beautiful crafts! We bought a few things from him!

Overall, we would return to Negril and CocoLaPalm in a heart beat!
