We enjoyed our stay here very much. We had a one bedroom oceanview, which was extremely spacious for a couple. (You could squeeze a larger family in this size unit, but you would need a rollaway bed in the living room because the sofa was not a pull-out.) The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking implements and appliances. There was a TV with cable, VCR, and DVD player. There were even books and boardgames. The oceanview units were located across a small courtyard to the beach, and we really did have a nice view of the ocean from our living room and patio area. There was also a charcoal grill out on the patio, which we used several nights.
Maid service came every day except Sunday, but sometimes at 5pm and other days at 10:30am, which was a bit inconvenient. The manager was friendly and attentive to our requests but was not terribly knowledgeable about some of the sites on the island.
The beach was gorgeous. It is much less crowded than the Westin and the Ritz Carlton beaches on either side. Our only slight complaint with the beach was the shortage of umbrellas. There were 6 umbrellas for the whole beach, and chairs under the umbrellas were claimed with someone's towel before 8AM each morning. There were also trees that provided imperfect shade, but it was still annoying that the property advertised beach umbrellas on their website and failed to deliver.
Within walking distance we had a liquor store and barebones mini-mart across the street, as well as a diner called Eats. It was about a 10 minute walk down the road to a large supermarket. There was a public bus that would take you up and down 7 mile beach for CI$2. However, if you are traveling with children or anyone less than spry, be forewarned that the street is very heavily trafficked with absolutely no crosswalks of any kind. Even if you are taking the bus, you will have to cross this street. You might want to rent a car.
We should note that both of our complaints (the shortage of umbrellas and crosswalks) were more symptoms of the island in general than this property. We walked along most of 7 mile beach and checked out lots of other condo properties, and they all seemed to be very short on umbrellas. If you really wanted a guaranteed umbrella, you could get one at the public beach across from the Marriott Courtyard for something like $20.
Overall, we would rate this property somewhere between a 4 and a 5.
