Our room had an excellant ocean view, and was attached to our kids room (they had a street and ocean view) which was fun. Our air didn't work very well..but the staff came up to fix it right away! (Still didn't work as well as the air in the kids room!) The room was CLEAN ...but the beds were so ROCK HARD that we all had trouble sleeping in them for a week. The food was good, not excellant...but GOOD! The entertainment left much to be desired, but you have a choice to go or not to go! The pool staff was a lot of fun although no one here in this hotel can speak English very well. The drinks were great, the bartenders actually made drinks that we requested each night with no problem! The pool was a little too warm for our taste..it wasn't refreshing at all. But it was very hot the week we were there, so there wasn't much that was refreshing when the temperture reached 100 degrees every day! The hotel is right on the main street and you could walk around but all of the attractions were too far away, we had to take cabs to them! Cabs are cheap, just make sure that you know the fare before you get into the cab and it's fine! I would stay there again it was worth the price!! I have been to Mexico many times, and this hotel is CLEAN!

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — The hotel was clean and well kept!
    • Disliked — The beds were so hard you couldn't get a good nights rest on them!

Okay...well The first off dont let the name the "Ritz Acapolco" fool you and think its like the Ritz Carelton because I guarrantee you it isn't, the Ritz was porbably the worst hotel I have ever been to in my entire life. First, no one speaks english in this hotel. There is the biggest language barrier you ever imagine with about 90% of the staff. If your'e not fluent in Spanish you will have a big probelm here. Also, the alcohol all tasted like crap and they always gave us there little cups for the drinks, when really you wanted a huge drink. The food was discusting. This food isnt good enough for a dog. All the food in mexican and it all tasted like crap. The food that did taste good made me sick the morning after. Oh and don't even get me started with the bedrooms, if you wanted to sleep on a soft bed you might as well sleep on a bunch of your clothes on the floor because i swear to you that would be more comfortable then these death matresses. The beds shouldnt be called beds because they are as hard a brick. The elevators will take 500000389248 hours to get to your floor so you might as well walk the stairs. The Televisions don't work and you have to call someone 292300320 times to get them to come up because no one understands english. The toilets clog for no reasons at all and it takes so long for someone to come up and fix it. Basically everything [--]. The only good this about this hotel is when I'm out of the hotel- going to clubs, touring the city, or tanning on the beach. I highly don't reccomend this hotel for your stay at Ritz Acapolco in Acapolco, Mexico

This was such a great place! The food was good and authentic, the staff was so nice and would go out of there way to make sure you were happy. They don't speak a lot of English-but you are in Mexico duh! There was security around the clock-on the beach in the lobby etc. so that people that weren't supposed to be there were kept out! The entertainment staff was so fun! They made sure that everyone was having fun and took the time to make friends with us. We ended up going out with them at night-which was good b/c it was safer and they took care of us. The rooms were good. They always were cleaned and checked on. The TVs weren't good but we were never in the room to watch! If you are up for a fun mexican vacation and ready to have fun and be entertained, this is the place! I can't wait to go back!

“Nice but not going back”

We stayed at the Ritz Acapulco. Found locals to be very rude. Hotel staff favortism toward locals. Very limited English. We had to tip to get service while others (locals) did not. Ignored at bar, waited on people behind me. Food was o.k. Got tiresome by third day. The only day La Cava was open was Thursday. We didn't know we had a reservation and missed it. An envelope showed up in our room with reservation info. Bummer. Would have liked a change of pace. Went to McDonalds and Hard Rock for regular food. Bring your own cups, very small drink cups. Bring your own towel if you want to swim after 6:00, towels have to be turned in and you only get 1 per day. Guys need baby powder if you know what I mean. Temp was very hot and humid. Air conditioning did not work well. Room was nice and clean. Hotel entertainment kind of cheesy. Tons of little children in pool. Never got in . . . no room!!
