Last spring break myself and 4 other college spring breakers stayed here. from the start we had to wait forever to check in. the guy at the lobby tried to hustle us for a tip for connecting rooms. The food was the nastiest food ive ever eaten. Drinks werent bad, sun was 85+ everyday, entertainment was decent, good crowd. its a decent hotel if your looking to spend as little as possible. to get to the beach you have to cross a busy street with crazy drivers. it does have a good location though. if your planning on staying here be prepared for the worst food.

I heard about how bad the hotel was ,the elevator was not working,it was dirty, the beer was not cold.Well My husband and I went and we had a great time. The weather was great. The rooms were very clean, the service was great and the food was good. The elevators were working and were not slow concidering how many floors there were. The pool was nice and they had entertainment and food there also. The beach was across the road. There were plenty of shops and a flea market .You could barter for what you wanted. The tours gave us an idea how the mexicans survive is the only word I can say.Do not drive there but take a taxi.People do not want to go to Acapulco because of the two times people have been killed.I think it depends on where you go and what you do.We did not go too far at night.Plus with the heat and the fresh air I was really tired and went to bed early. So if you like heat ,here is a place to go.They also have Wal mart,Sams, cosco's,subway,Mcdonalds and so on.

“Great location & Nice Hotel !!”

Romano Palace, Acapulco, Mexico " Great Location & Nice Hotel"
Date : 12/28/06
Review : Myi
I was staying here for New Year 2007. Hotel was clean , great view and very nice location.
I was disappointed about lobby which was kind of dirty , but the room was very clean and good AC.
I kept opening window but room was still cool. I agreed about complain about elevator, but it's vacation time so no big deal . Why you need to rush?
You can go to many restaurants and clubs by walking distance. You should ask lobby to get higher floor when checking in . Actually the hotel's location is too noisy if you stay lower than 10th floor.
If you need refrigerator , you must stay on 3rd floor where is worse floor because the Pool is on 3rd floor.
You can just get cooler box which is US$2.00 and a bag of ice at near convenience store.
I enjoyed this hotel and will back again!

“this place sucks”

Romano Palace Hotel & Suites Acapulco

Nov 28, 2006

im 20 and i went to the romano for spring break. im just gonna make this simple with a list of phrases including the things that really sucked about this place....

WARM BEER.. and youll hate corona after day 1, make sure you get beer from a liquor store and keep it in the fridge in the room. i reccomend dos equis(amber if they have it).. its phenominal.

broken air conditioners in rooms... at least i think they were broken, we had 4 rooms and they were all comparable temperatures to my groin on a hot day. im the kinda guy who's vacation will be pretty ruined if the ac doesnt work because if the A/c doesnt work then i dont sleep and if i dont sleep i feel horrible all day...

HORRIFYING FOOD.... im not a complainer. but i actually didnt eat for most of the trip because of this

the elevator.... it is really the absolute worst thing ive ever seen. it has 22 floors and 1 elevator. just imagine all the drunk idiots pressing all the buttons on it when they get off. that happens once and its an hour wait. if you really dont have enough money to stay anywhere else, MAKE SURE you get a suite because u dont need the elevator to get there.. we had 22nd floor rooms then we got switched down to the suites cause thats what we paid for.

the staff... they are useless. and the security idiots wont let you bring someone up to the room for a little late night love making. they suck.

now the only thing that was good about this place.. was the pool, the emcee is really funny too, during the bikini contests and stuff like that he just starts yelling SEXY SEXY SEXY SEXY SEXY.... its really funny.... and he says new yersey. thats funny too....

yea all in all, this place is complete hell and you should go to la playa suites or something

oh and as for clubs i recommend los alibrejes, njoy and ibiza because its half on the beach... peace

“Muchos Problemas”

Stayed here for spring break back in March with some buddies.. First of all, like every other review says, the elevator problem is a disgrace. Don't even bother with it unless you're on one of the upper floors. Take the employee elevator if you decide to use one at all. Rooms were alright, didn't have any problems there. I wouldn't recommend staying here though if you plan on sleeping anytime before 5:00 as this place called Paradise is across the street and constantly blasting music and shaking the rooms. The pool was pretty small, so most people would either be laying outside of it or be across the street at the beach. Speaking of the beach, be sure not to leave anything behind at any time. My friends and I had our sandals, shirts and hats stolen from us after being gone for 10 minutes. There are so many Mexicans trying to sell you things on the beach that you might be better off just staying at the pool in the hotel. They get extremely annoying. Going back to the hotel.. the service was horrible. I doubt these people make much money on salary, so I'm assuming they're trying to pry as much money as they can from students' tips. They would literally refuse to serve you at times if you did not tip them. After paying for all-inclusive it seems a bit ridiculous for them to be demanding a tip every time you want a drink. The food at the buffet was pretty decent and the OJ was amazing, especially in the mornings after a long night. Nightlife.. I would recommend Alebrije and Palladium over the other clubs. Alebrije was by far my favorite club.. bartenders served you nonstop and did not ask for tips.. the place had a huge dance floor and great music. When riding taxis to and from the clubs make sure to bargain with them as they will certainly bring down the price.

Overall, the Romano is a decent choice if you're really on a budget, but be prepared to have tip money with you and money for the clubs. If you can afford to spend a little extra for a better hotel I would.
