My husband and I stayed here Apr.14-21. I had no complaints about the hotel itself. The service was great, the beach was fantastic, which is the main reason why I chose to stay here, after reading these reviews. There is a strong undertow, so I would probably not recommend this beach for small kids. We are not picky eaters, but we got bored with the food. The steak in the fancy restaurant is the best meal in the entire hotel, and is not to be missed! I expected there to be more available in the 24 hour "super deli", like maybe some sandwiches. But it's just chips, candy, cookies and the like. One shocker was a disposable camera for sale for $18 american! So if you use them, or suntan lotion, make sure you bring them from home. The one thing that pretty much ruined the vacation was the timeshare reps that work in the hotel. They are ruthless. I thought it wouldn't be that bad, but it was. They call your room every morning starting at 8am, ten minute intervals until you answer. Even if you say you're not interested in the presentation, they will still call you every day. They also leave notes under your door (in Spanish only). When you try to leave the hotel, they chase you down the street asking you where you are going, and offering to give you free tickets or coupons to whatever it is, just to get you into the presentation. After the 4th day of this, I wanted to avoid the hotel altogether. After arriving, we paid extra to upgrade to the presidential suite, which was very nice. Isn't that enough? They need me to sign my life away for a time share as well? No thanks. So, there are good and bad things about every hotel out there, I just hope to help people be aware before they shell out their hard earned cash and vacation time. Happy travels!

“Awesome Beach And Service”

The beach here is beautiful! The staff was wonderful! The beds, not so much. What is it about beds at hotels in Mexico?! The food was so good - Lots of variety every day at the buffett. There is only one reservation only dining room - it's Itialian - the ambiance and view there is awesome, but the food is no better than the buffett. There isn't much to do after dark - would be great if they'd turn part of that lobby bar into a little dance floor. We brought our own boom box down one night and cleared away a dance floor and nobody stopped us. We had about 20 dancing - it was fun. So overall I'd say YES to the Park Royal - the staff was SO wonderful! Our maid made us little towell animals - just like on a cruise ship.

“Beautiful beach - wonderful hotel”

We just returned last night from Cancun. We had a great time and the food was wonderful. The staff is excellent and the hotel is spotless. The staff is constantly cleaning. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. The construction going on on either side of the Park Royal did not bother us at all. We stayed 4/22-4/27 and were on the beach every day and loved it! I recommend this hotel - great value for the price we paid.

“Good resort if you like ALL INCLUSIVE”

Park Royal Piramides Cancun

This was a clean, if rather dated, resort a little dwarfed by some of the more modern large hotels along the strip. We arrived at late at night only to be told that it was ALL INCLUSIVE that it was MANDATORY and that we had been charged from 12pm, before we even got on the flight!!

If this is the kind of holiday you look for then you will not be disappointed, and in truth the options outside the hotel are limited to fairly expensive theme restaurants and more ALL INCLUSIVE bars with watered down drinks and plenty of reminders from the waiters that service is not included.

Do not go on the ALL INCLUSIVE drinks party with any reps..you will eventually be led to a NOT ALL INCLUSIVE bar after they have plied you with nasty watered down drinks and will disappear with your transport home. Taxis are extortionate but the local buses are 24hrs and cheap, if rather fast!

The buffet food varies in quality but there's enough variety for a week. The Italian restaurant on site is part of the ALL INCLUSIVE and is of a pretty decent standard, it is also child free but you must book early as it can soon fill.

The beach here is about the best in that area of the hotel zone and the pool areas are well cared for. The staff are warm and friendly, we felt that although tips were ALL INCLUSIVE the service should be tipped as it was efficient and professional.

Everything is in plastic or polystyrene which apart from be a huge waste ecologically it did take any classiness away from the resort.

Its a shame that this is ALL INCLUSIVE as only the money earned by the staff goes into the local economy...you are a veritable prisoner of sorts which is a shame as the region is beautiful, the people are warm and gregarious and there is more to see than a beach, polystyrene margaritas and ALL INCLUSIVE coco bongo type nightclubs......

PS. when we were there there was construction work on both sides which apart from being noisy it also made the balcony too dusty to sit on

Beautiful Beach. Beautiful views. The hotels are situated between waht used to be a large area of shrubbery, but now, the resort is actually in the shadow if the Westin resort.

The resort was amazing, the staff were EXCELLENT!!
The rooms where nice, fresh and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job!! The food at the buffet was good, a good selection.
One negative thing...
there is no longer lush jungle around the hotel, as the picture states on the website, but now mon-sat there are builders on either side, sawing, cutting and blasting ALL DAY LONG...very loud
they also whistle at you, I was sitting having a drink, getting yelled at, and waved at my Mexicans, overlooking the resort.
The streets were very clean, but alot of construction going on.
Another negative thing...don't trust anyone, even your representative, they all work on commission, and if you talk to the locals, they will give you the low down.
All and all it was amazing, the beach was simply spectacular, the ruins are amazing, but yet again, the construction has ruined what I imagine was once a very peaceful resort.
If you are thinking of the park royal, it was a good stay, a few things for improvement, out of thier controll...
all and all, it was awesome!
