Stayed at the Villa Veradero for a week while our adult children stayed at the Mayan Palace. My yuppy children and spouses liked the Mayan for the sissle - workout room, water aerobics, great pool, fancy suite, ext. My wife and I liked the Villa Veradero - great beach,Mexican atmosphere, nice comfortable suite and very reasonable "all-inclusive". We stayed at the Mayan a day and the kids came over and stayed a day with us at the Villa Veradero. At the Mayan we sat around the pool - a magnificant pool it is - but didn't go in the ocean - did see one boggy boarder get scraped up while hitting the beach at the Mayan Palace beach. Not too many people on the beach now I know why! The kids "yuppies" spent the next day and into the night with us at the Villa Veradero. They spent a couple of hours swimming and boggy boarding in the ocean. They stayed all day and into the wee hours. The Villa Veradero has good food not fancy. A good bar - all the fancy drinks. Easy parking. A bus stop right out the door. Eduardo, the manager, and the front desk crew were very helpfull and you could kid around with them. We had a suite with a balcony on the top floor - 7th but they are actually half floors - 52 steps. My wife counted. We looked at the climb as excersise and soon it was no problemo. The sunset from the balcony, looking out over the beach into the weastern sky was almost mystical. We definitly will be back and for a longer stay. We had fun!
