Budget hotel with sight on Sacre Coeur and just two blocks away from Place Pigalle. Great location, looks nice from the outside, but needs a good renovation. Cleanliness is soso, bathtub with a plastic curtain and a shower that doesn't stay in position. Nice is the very small balcony with view on a small parc and on the basilique, if you dare testing the solidness of the fence.

Pleasantly suprised by this hotel - it's basic (think travelodge) but very clean, and the square it overlooks is very quiet and has a lovely market on Fridays. What more can you ask for!

Location is good - just down from Anvers metro station - and 5 mins from the Sacre Cour.

If you are not taking part in the hotel breakfast there is a great boulangerie close by - turn left out of the hotel, walk down about 200 yards and cross the road. It also does tea and coffee to take away and fabulous pain aux chocolate.

First of all please keep in mind that this is a budget hotel. For 40-60 Euro per person (depending on the way you book and the type of room) you get a very decent hotel with a terrific location.

Objectively, the rooms are small and very basically furnished. The rooms looking inside the small courtyard are gloomy, with hardly any view at all. Doors are squeaky, carpets are soiled.
BUT if you are coming to Paris on a budget and you (like me) are planning to spend most of your time sight-seeing anyway, than this does not bother you much.

What is important is that the rooms are clean, towels are changed daily, bed sheets are clean and white. Personnel is helpful (by French standards :-) ). The hotel is ca 100m from a Metro station. You are within walking distance of the Sacre Cour, Pigalle, Moulin Rouge and countless attractions and restaurants of Montmartre and along bd's de Clichy and Rochechouart.

Several brasseries in the neighborhood will also deliver a much better petit dejeneur in a far better atmosphere so I recommend skipping breakfast in the hotel.

Other reviews helped me choose this hotel for our 3 night stay in Paris. Clean, affordable, great location---perfect I thought. The room was large and it seemed clean, however.....the "damp" smell was so strong we needed to open the windows. Thank God it was cold out but it is one of the noisiest streets in town----between the smell, the noise and the awful mattress I barely got any sleep....honest. The bathroom grout and carpet in the room have not been cleaned in a long, long time. We asked for a better room but they said they were booked. One more thing..on our last day, as we checked out, we noticed that breakfast was offered downstairs...none of the staff mentioned this to us.

The location is excellent but I will not stay there again or recommend it to anyone.
