“Great value family room”

Derby Garibaldi

My family (husband and four-year-old son) and I have just returned from a 3-night stay in Paris at the Derby Garibaldi. The family room at this hotel is fantastic - big by Paris standards, comfortable, quiet, clean and with two bathrooms(!). There is a double bed and two singles. The staff were lovely and happy to speak English when our French was not up to the job. Breakfast was good - not exceptional, but then it was included in the price, which was very reasonable. Having the metro stop just outside was great, and there is another stop on a different line a couple of blocks away too. And if you're looking for dinner, walk five or six blocks up the Boulevard Suffren to the Comptoir Suffren.
The only problem was a small kerfuffle with the reservation - I had booked a family room, but they initially put us in a room with no bed for our son. But this was quickly sorted out and we were moved to the right room.
I thought this hotel was great value for money and would certainly stay there again.

We stayed here 3 nights in the family room. Front desk staff were friendly. Breakfast was included in our rates...simple, but well worth it. The room was big enough for 4 of us with 1 king & 2 single beds and 2 bathrooms (very convenient !). We could see of the Eiffel tower from our window too! Room had minor problems. The fixed air-cond units werent working so we used a portable unit. We opened the windows at night and it was pretty noisy as the hotel faces a main street. There was a hole in the wall of one of the baths (for plumbing ) which was creepy. Elevator was small but worked efficiently. Location just opposite the metro station was a real plus as there was some strike going on at the time and the taxis couldnt get to our hotel. We took the metro to many places and it was quick and clean. There are a few restaurants on Blvd Garibaldi and behind the hotel. There's also a Franpix supermarket down the street.

“Nice for the price”

The hotel was in a good location directly across from the subway. When I booked with Expedia I booked for three adults in an adjoining room. When we arrived we were given a room with one queen bed and one pull out single bed all in the same room. The staff was super friendly, tried to change our room but couldnt until the following evening. We had a nice view of the Eiffel Tower the first night but since it was in the front of the building the street noise was a little loud. The second night we were in a different room, no view but a bit quieter.
The breakfast consisted of coffee, juice, yogurt, bread, and cereals. It was nothing special but took care of our needs for a few hours.
Again the staff was so nice. They all spoke good English. I would recommend this hotel because of the conveinient location, the price and the friendly staff.

“Good deal on Paris..will return”

We were a party of 4 (3 adults 1 teenager) and stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights. We land on Charles de Gaulle and took a cab with help from an airport worker, EUR50 + EUR1-2 per baggage. Dont fall on the EUR100 scam!. It took the driver about an hour to reach the hotel,

A nice and helpful woman greeted us in english, rather good could you say. The elevator only could fit the luggage, or 1 person and one little part of the luggage, and the stairs were so narrow that taking one piece of our stuff was a hard task. We reach our "suite", 1 nice and clean bathroom, main room with a rather big bed for European standards and a smaller room with 2 now european style beds.

Both rooms were clean and quiet and helped us out to recover from our big walks. Eiffel Tower was at a walkable distance, you have some bakeries and restaurnts around the block. We even ordered some Domino's pizza there (we came late to the hotel, no time for eating outside, and we were dead tired).

Nice job Garibaldi, will comeback if I have the chance.

I checked with "Trip Advisor" before we left for our trip and the ratings that I read were pretty accurate. Location was great (subway right across the street)...plenty of little stores, grocery, and cafes WELL within walking distance. Staff was nice, rooms were cleaned daily, breakfast that was included OK consisted of coffee, tea, different cereals, plain and chocolate crossiants, bread and chesses. Staff spoke and understood english. We had two small children and 2 adults and we were in a room for 4 which was small but worked fine. Leak in ceiling that looks like it had been fixed, constant clogged sink in bathroom, and mini bar refridge not working were really the only negatives. I would would recommend and would stay there again. Cant beat the price...around 200 Euro a night....PARIS IS VERY EXPENSIVE FOR 4!!
