Excellent hotel, we highly recommend it. Stayed here with friends for one night, our first time at this hotel but second visit to Berchtesgaden. The room was very large and clean, great balconey view of the mountains to the southeast of town. The bathroom was large and clean. The beds were firm, clean and comfortable with a down duvee and down pillows.
The breakfast was a large spread with eggs, bacon and standard European fare of bread, jam, juice, yoghurt, cereal and coffee or tea.

Located in the heart of the town, it is near to everything you need in a vacation town in the Alps.

Great location, great breakfasts, great rooms, great price. Highly recommend if you visit Berchtesgaden

Three of us spent two nights in this hotel the last weekend. I called them via phone to make the booking.
The receptionist (Petra) spoke fluent English and was extremely friendly and helpful and also honest as proposing me a solution cheaper and better then my original request. I did not listen to her but when I arrived I checked her option too and found she was right.
The hotel has a perfect location with a beautiful view over the mountains. Make sure you book a room with view, otherwise you might open your window to the backyard. Of course if you love brick walls then disregard the previous sentence. :)
The room was great and comfortable, the cleaning ladies were fast and made a good job.
The breakfast was tasty and they offered a big variety which is not very common in West Europe.
The only bad point is the size of the parking lot, but if you do not find free space then you can contact the very helpful receptionists and they will assist you parking somewhere else.
The city itself is georgous so I would say it was one of my best times in Germany.

Stayed at the Hotel Wittelsbach (Berchtesgaden) last September, loved it so much we came back for 2 weeks June/July 2007. If you're visiting Berchtesgaden DO NOT CONSIDER ANY OTHER HOTEL. The Wittelsbach's rooms are lovely, spacious and very comfortable, fabulous views from the balcony rooms, breakfasts are a delight with plenty of choice, the hotel is in the heart of town - great location. Petra and Bernhard who run the hotel are lovely people, friendly and very helpful. After all that, what more could you ask for? (nice weather?)
