“small hotel, but clean and efficient”

Sheraton Munchen Westpark Hotel

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

I had to stay in munich for a night, The business I was working with booked me in this hotel, I was allowed an early check in 8:00 AM "wawoo", the hotel rooms seem to be refurbished, nice and efficient,

The hotel staff are nice and helpful, the buidling from outside seems old, but the rooms are good and comfy.

The only problem with the hotel its really far from downtown, so I had to take a taxi to look around, awat from that, its ok, if you are comming for business.

“Not as nice as expected”

Sheraton Munchen Westpark Hotel

Having stayed at the Sheraton Arabellapark (formerly ArabellaSheraton Bogenhausen) just a few months ago, and absolutely loving it, I decided to try the Sheraton Westpark for my recent 3-night trip. The location is quite convenient, right on top of a subway stop, although there's not much within convenient walking distance. The staff was very nice and the check-in and check-out quick and efficient. And the hotel lobby had a nice, inviting atmosphere.

However, the aspect of the hotel that fell well short of expectations was the room. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. We got 2 twin mattresses pushed together, and I've had softer, thicker mattresses in hostels. And the sheets were scratchy to the point where my girlfriend woke up with a rugburn from moving around in her sleep. This was quite a difference from the Arabellapark Sheraton, where the beds were great! Also, the room didn't have a clock, which is semi-annoying, and the tv was old and worked poorly.

There was a metal sunshade outside the window that comes down with a switch, which is kind of cool normally, except when it starts going up and down noisily at 6am. Either we had a ghost in our room or it was broken.

I'm not sure if some of the rooms are renovated to better standards, but I hope so. Our stay wasn't bad overall, but I'd recommend staying at one of the other 2 Sheratons if the prices are comparable (in this case they were just about 10 euros more). No less convenient really, and much nicer rooms.

A quick word on the city, we were really surprised how busy everything was even in the low travel season. We happened upon great weather, and had a great time going around and seeing the sights of the city. Very nice people and great food and beer! Lots of great German food, but if you get sick of sausage, check out Berni's Pizzeria a block or 2 off Marienplatz. Great, authentic Italian food. Enjoy Munich!

“Loved this Hotel”

Wonderful Sheraton, newly renovated, clean, friendly staff, what more could you want? While it's not directly in the city center, the U-Bahn stop is right in front of the hotel. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and ultimately professional. The pool/spa area is well designed and makes for good relaxation.

“Really enjoy staying here!”

Sheraton Munchen Westpark Hotel

I have stayed here twice, and plan on coming back. I have been a guest at several hotels in Munich, and although this is not the most luxurious, it is very nice!

So many good points are covered by other reviewers, so I will try to add a couple of things that have not been mentioned too often. The walls between all rooms are solid concrete. I really don't like hearing what is going on in adjacent rooms, and the concrete does a great job at muffling this.

The staff has some very helpful individuals. Not all of them are nice or particularly helpful, but if you deal with the good ones you should be fine.

Nice sauna and steam bath, but the pool is tiny. The wellness area has all sorts of services (massages, scrubs, etc.), in case you are into that. If you like privacy when you go to the sauna, go early. Later it gets a bit social; fine for most people. There is also a jacuzzi by the pool. Always many towels. Overall the wellness area is pleasant enough.

Right next to a subway station. That can make a difference when it is raining hard, or the streets are icy, etc. During the day you can catch a subway to any place you like every 5 minutes. Central station is just a 4 minute ride away.

Some rooms are remodeled and some are not. I was in a new room with a great bed (that is a big deal for me), and a beautiful bathroom. Nice furniture, good taste, and even the curtains reflect taste and class. And, if you need total darkness when you sleep, not only do the curtains "seal" well, but there are even metal shades outside the windows. The latter are hardly needed by most.

Breakfast buffet: an elegant enough restaurant provides a decent selection. No "omelet station" so if you want anything other than standard scrambled eggs or hard boiled eggs, just ask for it.

The outside of the hotel is nothing special, and the lobby is okay. The rooms and other amenities are what make this place special to me, along with a few key staff members. Overall excellent.

“Great hotel with convinent connection to the subway.”

Meet our expectation as a Sheraton.

From reception, bell services to the restauant , services were all great.

Room is spacious and comfortable.

Internet is still the dial up technology, but is being upgarded. We used the hotspot services in the lobby and the price is reasonable.

The subway station is next to the hotel, and going into the town sqaure was fast and easy once we figured out the system. The younger generation, can generally managed simple english dialogues were eager to help with the direction. We had supper in the town sqaure and we tried out the local meat loaf and pork shank, both were great.

Although we could have taken the subway to the airport we reserved a private vehicle to the Munich Airport for a flat fee of 65 Euro instead due to our luggages. We were glad spending the extra Euros. At the appointed time was a late model black Mercedes MiniVan pulled up in front of the hotel, with an great driver. The trip still took 45 minute to complete and it was not even rush hour. In a private vehicle, we managed to see more of the city and without the hazzle of dragging the luggages through the subway system.
