“Great Place to Stay in Munich”

Fleming's Hotel Munich City

5 of 5 stars

We had a great experience at the Flemings Hotel in Munich. This very modern hotel also features a conscientous staff that was tremendously kind and helpful.

The hotel appears to be very new and is immaculate. We checked in and were given an upgraded room which was nice sized. As others have noted, the layout of the room is funky, with the glass shower basically a part of the bedroom. It's different, but it was nice to have a glassed in shower instead of spraying the whole bathroom as most showers seem to be in Europe.

The front desk was so great, helping with various issues, and especially making two excellent dinner recommendations both nights we were there. When we filled out a comment card at the end of our stay complimenting the staff, we received a thank you note and a somewhat melted chocolate bar in the mail back in California!! Very thoughtful.

Our train departed at 6:20 am, before the breakfast room opened, but they kindly gave us each to-go meals for the train and these were extremely generous and large.

The room was clean, modern and comfortable. We also appreciated the energy conciousness of the place, the lights in the hallways are motion sensitive, so shut off when no one is around.

Overall, a very impressive hotel in a great location, literally a 2 minute walk across the street to the main train station.

“Really great hotel”

Fleming's Hotel Munich City

Stayed in this hotel in June and cannot find a bad thing to say about it. We only stayed one night before our trip down to Austria and what a great place to start. We found the hotel easily (sat nav is a genius invention). Check in was painless and they spoke English which helped as well. Parking in the underground secure car park was only €14 per day. Rooms were really clean and the glass shower in the room was a quirky addition, really good fun and gave it that something different to other hotels. Breakfast was gorgeous, buffet style with egg's ordered to your choice. Loads of variety so we didn't leave hungry. The location of the hotel is very good also. We didn't use the trains etc but we did walk to the centre which only took a few minutes. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel for a trip to Munich.

“Very nice all around”

Fleming's Hotel Munich City

Stayed two nights with a colleague at the hotel, and good thing I had read the reviews on this nice hotel, so we had separate rooms. The famous "shower" is really strange since there is no curtain, no blinds, nothing to shield you if there are other people in the living area. So if you are not a couple traveling together, book separate rooms. Otherwise, a very good hotel. Perfect location, price was reasonable, room was clean, adequate and all I expected after reading good reviews. The staff was friendly and both check-in and check-out were really smooth. The breakfast was simple, but enough to make me happy. If you are spending a couple of days in Munich, this is a worthwhile hotel to stay at, right beside the Meridien and certainly cheaper without compromising quality. The hotel bar is nice, with a great view of the street, but you don't get peanuts with your beer since they don't have any!

“Convenient”

Fleming's Hotel Munich City

Travelled from the airport by train and the hotel couldn't be better located for getting around. 400m from the metro entrance and 800m from the main railway station. This is ideal as Munich has a fantastic metro, tram and railsystem for commuting which runs until 2am everyday. A rover ticket for all day costs only 10 euros! If you prefer to walk its about 10 mins from the main square or the taxi rank is outside the hotel in the adjoining street.

Arrived at 1pm and the room wasn't ready, although they did advertise check in from 2 pm which was fair enough. Did all the paperwork on arrival and came back at 2 pm after a couple of beers and all was well. Staff very courteous and efficient.

Room was a double which was of a decent size on the third floor. It was spotlessly clean as was the rest of the hotel. A word of caution re the bathroom, if youre shy then this may not be the place for you as the bathroom has glass walls(except for the toilet). I already knew this as I had researched before the trip.

Used the restaurant for breakfast which was a mixture of buffet and waiter service. Good selection of healthy/cooked options including english and continental fayre.

There was apparently a gym and solarium on site but didn't use these.

In a nutshell: good value, good service which was courteous and efficient, good location, great city................recommended.

For info: If this place is full then the Sofitel is opposite and Le Meridien is next door but one.

A very pleasant experience! Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms out of vogue , spacious and quiet despite being next to main road and station. Extremely convenient location and a fine bar and restaurant. Best of all is the price ! This really is the place to stay in Munich.
