Clean, friendly, good food, quiet, needs stronger wifi connection.
Price is good for Dusseldorf city .
Paid Euro 120. Price is higher when big shows are in town.
Booked directly on Marriott site. Much more flexibility.
Comfy beds, very nice staff, I would stay again for sure.

I stayed for here for 3 nights for business in Sept 2007, room 516. The room overlooked the river which was nice. Decent amount of space.

Restaurant - restaurant was surprisingly good. They made a special pasta dish for me (I'm vegan). Also other restaurants in the area across the river.

Cleanliness: Bathroom and room were clean with two exceptions - Spider web (no spider) on ceiling and coverlet on foot of bed needed a washing - obvious stains.

Fitness - small fitness room with cardio equipment , small amount of hand weights and one of those all in one machines.

Bed was comfortable - not two twins pushed together.

Security - require key card to use the elevator. In room safe large enough for laptop. Area is safe to walk around but a bit deserted at night.

Entertainment - CNN, BBC only English tv channels. Selection of a few movies.

Area - in media area of city. Restaurants and bars nearby. Cinema near by but all were in German. Funky architecture of some buildings but otherwise not much to see when walking around. Taxi is about 8 to 10 Euro to old town which is a great area for restaurants. Very lively and fun especially on a warm night out.

Most staff were pleasant and helpful. Restaurant staff were great. One staff member was a bit annoyed when I asked her to show me how to log in to their internet system as I could not understand the German instructions and none were available in English.

Internet. My one BIG COMPLAINT. Charge 6 Euros for an hour and the connection was horrible - whether wireless or by cable. Also tried the terminal in the lobby - same issue. Took me 20 minutes to get out 2 small email via hotmail and could not make a successful VPN connection to my office. My colleague had the same issue. This alone would stop me from ever returning. Good Internet access is essential during my business trips.

Transportation - only about 20 min from the airport. Less than 20 Euro by taxi to the hotel. About 8 Euro from the train station. Taxi stand nearby and they are generally there during the day otherwise staff will call one for you.

Spent a couple of nights here and would definitely stay again. The only unfortuante thing for me was that they gave me a disabled room and I can't stand having a wet bathroom floor.
The hotel is in the new restauarant belt and is a reasonably easy walk to the old town.

We stayed at the Courtyard in May 2006. We really liked it. We were upgraded to a suite on the 8th floor. Great view, great room, excellent service both at check in and at the bar/restaurant. We really enjoyed our stay.
