Very nice small boutique hotel in the centre of Barcelona. Perfect location for almost everything. Nearest tube station a 2 min walk , 5 min to Catalunya.
Friendly and very helpful staff.
I had a single room, nice furnished with a lovely stylish bathroom.

We spent two nights at the Constanza in early December. As we arrived there at 11.00am, our room wasn't ready (nor did we expect it to be) so we left our bags with the very friendly receptionist and headed off sightseeing.

We returned later in the evening, collected our key and found our room was actually one of the apartments on the top floor of the annex beside the hotel. We had only requested a standard double room and were only charged for a standard room. The room itself was very nice, quite funky and minimalist with a very large balcony overlooking the street. The noise wasn't really a problem on the top floor. Behind a sliding door there was a little kitchen unit with hob, sink and fridge. Everything you would need infact. I remarked that it would be a fantastic apartment to rent for a week (but maybe not in December!!) The bed was comfortable and extra blankets were provided if necessary. We did actually find the room a little cold on arrival!!

The bathroom was fine though small enough and open to the bedroom. The toilet itself was in a small separate room with no obvious ventilation which may cause problems! The shower however was fantastic! The apartment was spotlessly clean. We did notice that none of the English speaking television channels worked but we weren't there to watch TV so it wasn't an issue.

We had breakfast at the hotel too for €6.00 per head and it was perfectly fine. Cereals, toast, croissants, ham, tomatoes orange juice and coffee were all available.Saves the bother of having to go find somewhere if you are on a tight schedule! The breakfast area is on the ground floor just beyond the lobby.

We found the hotel very easily and its just under a 10 minute walk to Plaza Catalunya. Infact it was also very convenient for the Barri Gothic area and for anywhere else after that if you are fond of walking. Its not that far from La Sagrada Familia either!!

All in all , it was great value for money, good location and staffed by very friendly guys and girls! I would strongly recommend the Constanza.

Just come back from our 7 nights stay at the Constanza and we agree with all the positive reviews; the hotel looks exactly like the pictures on its website, the staff are extremely helpful and nice, the room cleand and comfortable and the location is unbeatable, in a safe area and very central.

There are just a few inconveniences. You DO need to bring your own toiletries as the one provided by the hotel is quite substandard, there's no room slipper and you actually hear fragments of your neighbors conversation but this is easily solved with a pair of earplugs.

All in all, this is a great little hotel which delivers everything as it promises. A real value for money and difinitely more than a two stars hotel.

p.s we had a meal at Casa Calvet, the restaurant housed in one of Gaudi's building on Casp street and had to say that it wasn't worth it as the food was just ok but the price steep. Our best meals were tapas at Cerveria Catalana on 236 Mallorca street and of course, the famed Cal Pep (you really, really have to be there like 15 mins before it opens). The Thai Sabai Sabai restaurant which locates just around the corner from the hotel on Gran Via de Catalanes street is excellent and serves Thai food that tastes lke we eat in Thailand, trust us, we are Thai.

I recommend this hotel, if you need a simple, clean, freindly hotel. Being near to a Metro station makes it useful too. I asked for a quiet room and got one looking inside which was peacefully quiet. A rare thing in Barcelona. Smallish room and bathroom, very basic breakfast for 6 € . So if you are American and want lots of space and lots of ameneties, maybe not your choice. But for me on business it was perfectly adequate ( including internet connection and a good working air conditioning ) - and as said, there are dozens of higher-priced hotels in Barcelona where you cannot sleep for the traffic noise.
