We have just returned from a two week stay at Clube Porto Mos, cannot fault the rooms as they are cleaned regularily and I have to say one of the nicest self catering apartments we have stayed in. Unfortunatly ours was at the highest point of the complex and my husband is arthritic and we found it a bit of a struggle in the heat of the day and again at night returning from our travels. Not good for asthmatics either. Achohol helped though!!
There is no shop on site or anywhere near alas it is a good 20 minute walk, and in the heat quite a struggle up hill, we felt sorry for a couple of families with small children who were finding it very difficult.
The upside of being at the top if you looked to your left a fantastic view the downside if you looked to your right was the building site of the new holiday complex being built next door having said that we were not overly bothered by noise or dust so not too much of a prob, just spoilt the view.
If you have any problems just ask Ricardo on reception desk he works very hard, and is very patient and helpful one of the most friendly of the staff. The Bar waiter we found very grumpy and complained if you ordered too much at once.didnt smile once!
There is no entertainment at the hotel so we got a taxi most nights into Lagos where there is a plethira of restaurants and bars. We did not hire a car as we found it quite expensive and it worked out for six of us, it was cheaper to get a taxi. They are really busy so you may have to wait a while.
The pool very nice but cold and we had our men and children moaning it was too cold to get in. Not a problem with pool chairs as most people go to the lovely beach which is down a steep incline which has two beach bars. Take your wind shield though as it is very windy and you get sand blasted.
We did a Dolphin trip from Lagos harbour which was just amazing and a real must to see. We picked the roughest day ever though so it was a bit hairy and we got soaked as it is on a speedboat, but worth every minute.!
Praia da Luz is just along the coast and cost about 12 euro's by taxi one way, it is a lovely resort but saddend by little Madeleines loss,we lit candles in the picturesque church there which is beautiful.
All in all we did have a good time but very tired due to all the walking. Still it was a good way to lose weight!
