“Clean, spacious and great value apartments”

Marina Park

Sep 3, 2008

Excellent value for money accommodation near the Marina in Lagos. Apartments were extremely spacious and spotlessly clean. Lovely large balcony, full bathroom and well equipped kitchen area, which included full size fridge and washing machine. Our apartment had a lovely view of the pool and I found that although the complex was large in size, it was fairly quiet and very well maintained, with lots of grassed areas and a nice water feature near the pool.

Lagos is a lovely town and we ate at some lovely restaurants, our favourites being; o'henriques, Miramar, Veneza and Do Cais on the Marina.

Excellent accommodation, at exceptional value for money - would really recommend!

“Great resort”

Marina Park

Aug 24, 2008

The apartments are large and have most modern conveniences. They aren't very sound proof, we could hear the loud families below us but that can also be down to inconsiderate parents and children. Theres some building work going on close by so you want to ask for a block with a view of the football stadium or pool. The staff are quite abrupt and the drinks far too much. The town has a few bars, loads of places to eat and lots to see. I would recommend hiring a car, the roads are fantastic and the local drivers considerate. We drove to Guia and did the theme parks our selves - all easy to find. A great holiday, wonderful resort, good apartments, staff need some training! Luz car great car hire, try the beaches near Sagres, brilliant bbq restaurant at Beliche beach. Highly recommend

“Great Apartments - Steep Hill”

Marina Park

4 of 5 stars
Dublin Ireland
Aug 20, 2008

I highly recommend Marina Park as an option when staying in Lagos - The price difference between staying at Marina Club V the Park was €250 and a steep hill. Apartments are spotless, well equipped and plenty of space. Only problem for me was the hard bed but never mind that is just me. Steep Hill walk down to Marina and then onwards over the bridge to Lagos Center where there are plenty of taxis for the return leg home @ €4 so as you do not have to negotiate the hill on the way backup.
All in all - highly recommended for a weeks break

“Quiet, clean apartments”

Marina Park

Aug 14, 2008

We booked three 2 bed apartments for 12 people. The apartments were very spacious, clean and well equipped.
The kitchen comprised of a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, cooker, hob, toaster, the only thing it didnt have was a kettle, but the large saucepan did the job.
One bedroom had an ensuite with a double bed and the other room had 2 single beds with a pull out bed.
The balcony was quite large and view out over Lagos football club.
The only problem I found with the apartment was we were only given one key, so between 2 couples this some-times was annoying.
The pool area was well maintained with a restaurant right beside it, the food was reasonably priced but the drinks were v pricey, €2.50 for a coke, .45c in the supermarket.
A woman patrolled the area ensuring no "toys" or "balls" were in the pool, I thought this was a bit extreme as alot of children longed to play with them in the water.
Another day we brought down a cooler box with rolls, crisps, cans etc, we were given out to by the woman, her english wasnt very good but I think her problem was with the rolls and litter, eventhough we cleaned up after ourselves every day, the only other problem I could see was bringing food onto the premises, but when there were 12 people all eating and drinking, to go to their restaurant every day would have been costly to say the least.

The apartments werent very sound proof, you could here upstairs very cleary.

We ate in some nice restaurants, Do Cais down the Marina was lovely, they also owned another beach bar called Linda's this was v tastey with views out onto the beach.
We ate in Little Italy and a thai restaurant called The Lemongrass, it would be advised to book all these in advance.

We drank a couple of nights in the Irish Rover and Lazy Jacks.

We took two day trips, one to Zoo Marine and the other to Slide and Splash, make sure to arrive for the bus early as the queues can get long.
There is a supermarket on the premises this was handy for your few bits n pieces, other wise shop in the Pingo supermarket this is down the hill and take a right half way down the hill, short cut to it.
All in all I liked the Marina Park I just found it to be a bit strict for children and play time and the apartments were a little noisey.
Lagos itself was a nice area, quiet enough.

“Marina Park Review”

Marina Park

My family had a weeks stay at the Marina Park Apts. The accomodation was simply excellent. The Comples itself was very well laid out with a very good sized pool and lovely bar / restaurant area. The inclement weather did not stop us from having a great time and would happily recommend the apts to anyone. A 10 - 15 min stroll will take you to the centre of lagos and its cobbled streets where there are many fine places to eat drink and shop. Try the old tavern for a nice drink, Marilyn will make you feel at home. 10 metres away is the NO patio restaurant. You have to book but martyn the chef & staff will make you a knock out meal ! Also try the "Son Galo" restaurant The portugese owner is wonderful as is his food. Both restaurants are advertised in the free map guide to lagos. Go on......give all 3 a try.....you won't be disappointed !
