“Good but not as great as it used to be!”

This is the third time we've stayed at the Pallini Beach and I have to say that it is not as good as it used to be. The best thing about this hotel is it's position on the beach. The beach is gorgoeus and is fantastic for swimming, and most days we just stayed on the beach went to the beach taverna for lunch, it was very relaxing. But we felt as though the hotel had gone downhill, it seemed a bit dated, the rooms were ok but the bed mattress was uncomfortable and we felt that the rooms weren't cleaned properly. During our stay the maids only came in to change the towels and make the beds, they didn't clean the bathroom or wipe any surfaces. The food in the restaurant is tasty but it's not hot enough, though it is lovely sitting on the terrace in the evening and looking out over the sea. The staff were ok, there were 2 very nice waiters in the restaurant and the barman was great but the rest of them were pretty miserable and not very helpful! The pool area is lovely and the hotel has some lovely gardens through which you walk to the beach. I would say if you are looking for a relaxing beach holiday in the sun then the position of the hotel is fab you can't beat it, but the hotel isn't great on service and needs a revamp, which is such a shame as it used to be fantastic!

We arrived at the hotel full of hopes after seeng their website and viewing some reviews on tripadvisor. After a 13 hours drive we expected to find the relaxation we came there for...

Unfortunately it was not quite as we expected: the furniture in the room was old, smelly (like an old and ill woman's home) and not at all clean. The maids changed the towels every day, but that was all. No dust cleaning (after a 10 days stay, you couldn't see the TV anymore), very little vacuum cleaning, they knoked the door even though we'd hang out the "please do not disturb sign".

We travelled with our 11 months old child so we asked for a baby's bed. the one we received was in very poor condition, again smelly and very dirty.
In the garden there is a playing ground, but you can't use the cribs there because they are rusted and very-very old. Not at all child-safe.

In our room (a junior suite) there were tens...if not hundreds of ants!!!!!!!

If you go there be prepared to pay for everithing: the safe-box in the room, the fridge (!!!!!!!), drinks at breakfast and dinner (even if you go for half board).

The location is great, the beach fantastic, but that's all there is to this hotel. Maybe 10 years ago it was a fantastic hotel but now... is just old, rusty (literally speaking), dirty and smelly. There is no way a 4* hotel...maybe a 3*

“loverly location”

Pallini Beach Hotel

Sep 5, 2007

Arrived at pallini beach at 8.30pm evening meal finishes at 9.00 so took cases up to a wonderful airconditioned room and went to dine. Food was cold and air conditioning not very good, buffet was heated by hot water? Breakfast again cold tea and coffee served at table need to ask for very hot water for tea. That was my only complaint. The rest of the hotel, pool, great, sun bed no problem around the pool, or on the wonderful beach. The sea was that clean and clear you could see the bottom at neck high.
Beach party not to be missed dancing on the sand under the stars, fantastic night. Kalithea taxi 5 euro plenty bars and shops, or Hanioti 11 euro for more night life and shops beach bars that
light up the sea at night for evening dip. Aftos is a must 6 euro old cobbled streets with shops and bars. If you want to stroll up the road to the right few bars and supermarkets, discos and bowling. Bella paso good resturant, for lunch toastie, pizza, and Sky tv if footy is on and a great red wine, ask Vangellis if you can tasye the wines. To sum up wonderful hotel, great position on the beach with water sports and something for everyone, or just relax.

“worst holiday ever”

Pallini Beach Hotel

1 of 5 stars
bucharest, romania

We (me, my daughter and my husband) spent our fifth holiday in Greece but this was the worst holiday ever in terms of accommodation.
First, we paid for a bungalow with garden view and we received one with back of tavern and cleaning ladies office view, with food smell, dirty and clean towels, roller bags made of rusted metal and other stuff like this.
Second, they changed the bungalow (after several requests) but, surprise, inside it was raining through the selling in the bed! When we asked again for what we paid - bungalow with garden view, the receptionist named Rallou was very ruth and disturbed by the fact that we asked for our rights and she was screaming that she can't offer us anything beside a room in the hotel (cheaper and smaller!). Finally, after ling discussions and after we communicate that we decided to leave the Greek agent interfere and we received a bungalow with GV.
Also the waiters in the restaurant - some of them - were ruth and they didn't know english at all.
The complex has no 4 stars as it is written everywhere in their presentation, the facilities are less than promised and everything has not more than 3 stars but the price of 4.
I would recommend avoiding this complex if you need a pleasant and nice vacation.

“Not what it was”

Pallini Beach Hotel

3 of 5 stars
Crowborough, East Sussex, UK
Sep 1, 2007

We first visited Pallini Beach back in 2000 when our son was 6. The beach was great, the staff friendly, the hotel was safe and there was a "buzz" about it. The beach bar stayed open until 3 or 4 am with the resident DJ playing great rock music (which I treated myself to on a few occasionals much to my wife's annoyance!). That bar really made the holiday and we said we'd return one day - and we did in August this year.

The good points first. The beach was still good although there seemed to be more parasols and loungers that last time which made the beach feel more cramped but that might be my memory playing tricks on me. The sea is perfect for young children and appeared to be clean. The grounds are reasonably well kept and quiet. There is an outdoor cinema in the grounds which we love and was one on the reasons we came back. There is usually a different film on every night to cater for all tastes. The complex was clean.

The bad points. The staff were not as friendly as last time or in many other hotels we have come across. They were not rude but rather indifferent. We got the impression that most of them were not Greek - from Macedonia, Serbia, Crotia we would guess - and their English was rather poor. The language barrier is not a problem as we were abroad afterall but we got the impression that they could not be bothered. Service in the bars was slow and in the restaurants they were often not bothered if they served you tea and coffee or not. The only exception was was Poppi in the main restaurant who always made an effort and was very professional. But she was very much an exception. We went for the half-board option and the food was OK although a bit samey and the plates were rather small. The air conditioning in our bungalow did not appear to work - I woke up every hour in a pool of sweat regardless of the setting on the unit. The toilet was faulty - before going to bed each night I had to do some fancy plumbing work to stip it dripping and gushing.

The holiday was enjoyable for all that although not as enjoyable as we'd hoped. I would say the hotel would be a 3 star plus.rather than a 4 but is still reasonable value for money based on our experiences elsewhere. Don't go there if you want to be pampered but it is fine for families with small children wanting a quiet, safe location.
