“Forgettable”

What can I say?

Its a bit of a modern tower block, (thats because it is)
I had a room way up on high, view was OK, probably the best bit.
Bed was comfortable enough, size of room OK, nothing special.

The dinner in the restaurant was fine, friendly little waitress, food good.

Location is mixed, a bit quiet, not much around the hotel to walk to, need to take a taxi.

Summary: Its OK, does the job, reasonable business stay.

“Really disappointed”

Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel

A large group of us stayed at this hotel for a company meeting - but oh dear. The lifts were unrealiable - only 2 out of the 5 were working for a 550+ room hotel - the result was a 5-10 minute wait to catch a lift and if you are on the 26th floor there is no other option but to wait.

Sunday morning breakfast is also disorganised - there is only one restaurant offering breakfast and again I had a 10 minute wait in a queue for a table.

The only saving grace of the hotel is their 100% satisfaction agreement, which means if you have a legitimate compliant they will do what they can to compensate you - useful if you are on a personal visit.

“Big hotel, good location”

Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel

The Radisson SAS Scandinavia is hard to miss in Copenhagen, rising above all other buildings. Building itself is not particularly beautiful, the hotel looks better inside.

We stayed in oriental style rooms on the 20th floor, offering great views of the city and the lake next to the hotel. Rooms are nice enough, offering a desk, lounge chair and nice, soft bed. No safe in room. Bathroom has basic amenities and hairdryer. Ice machine down the hall, and a well stocked minibar. We did get most of our drinks from the petrol station next door, as the Danish petrol stations are fully licensed.

The hotel has a small swimming pool, as well as gym, sauna and massage/beauty parlour. There is also a casino in the hotel. We has the breakfast buffet, which was not included in our rate - a hefty 150 DKK per person.

Only 2 of 5 lifts were working during our last day, leading to massive lift queues during both breakfast and check-out. The staff apologised profusely.

Good and knowledgeable concierge, hotel is 5 minute walk from the excellent city metro system (very modern, no drivers) which is only 2 stops from Kongens Nytorv.

I would rate it as a good hotel, though it's big and impersonal.

“Good business Hotel”

Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel

4 of 5 stars

A good business hotel with the usual Raddison offering of free internet access, which opperates at a good speed.

A bit soulless but staff on the whole friendly.

Has it’s own Taxi rank and only time there wasn’t one there was when I had to leave at 5:30 am to fly on to Sweden, but one arrived within a minute when called.

Lobby is also the bar area which does get crowded.

They do have large coach parties checking in sometimes which can be a nightmare.

It has high speed lifts but you can wait a while sometimes for one to arrive, especially when the coach parties hit them.

Great views if your get up high and face towards the City & Harbour (I had a 23rd floor room last time).

Good/reasonable restaurants (Thai, Japanese and International)
The room service meals I have had have been well cooked and presented.
Breakfast buffet is usual American/European affair with a reasonable choice. There are several varieties of leaf tea and teapots for those of us who prefer that.

There is a Q8 petrol station next door with a shop for those who want to buy cheaper Beer, Water, snacks etc.

It is a bit of a walk from the centre of town but they do have bikes that can be used. (For those that don’t know Copenhagen is a very Bike friendly city)

There is a large park with a lake across the road for walking/jogging.
