I found the two hotels I stayed in for our 4 night break to Austria and Germany via Trip Advisor, and felt I had to pass on my thoughts!!

This hotel is well situated, and so quiet for a city centre hotel. Not road noise thanks to the two sets of double glazed windows in the rooms.

I booked a three bed room for myself, my other half and young child, and ended up with a suite with a double room, a lounge with a single bed and two bathrooms.... great value for money.

The staff were charming....and whilst we were at breakfast, a member of staff even brought us the latest Daily Telegraph without us even asking for it...

Hotel Zum Hirschen is a 4-star Best Western in Salzburg - close walking distance to train, old town, and all sights. Staff were wonderful, and rooms very comfortable. Highly suggested.

The hotel is close to the main railway station and walking distance from the old town ( well we walked it and are not young :-) ). The walk can take you through one of Salzburgs main parks.

The rooms are excellent and the staff were extremely helpful.
They have a large car park, which is an important thing when staying in a city.
The continental style breakfast was excellent ( I must stop using that word but it does describe it).

All the staff spoke English, for those of you who's German is poor/non-existant.

If we return to Salzburg we will stay there again.

This hotel's employees treat the customer like royalty and the rooms are very well layed out and so clean. They went out of their way to accommodate us with a special breakfast very early in the morning so we could catch our early flight. The organic restaurant has incredible food that is prepared to perfection. The hotel is in a great location for walking to all of Salzburg's historic and shopping sites. We highly recommend this hotel and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Salzburg!
