“Fabulous!”

Kaiserin Elisabeth

This hotel was on the pricier end of the budget we like to keep when traveling in Europe, but it was worth every Euro!

The location can't be beat, we walked everywhere. The reception/concierge service was first-class all the way. They recommended EXCELLENT restaurants, helped us decide what kind of show to see, and were able to get us tickets to a performance by the Vienna Boys Choir!

Our room was fantastic. It was nicely air conditioned and the finishings and decor were sleek and modern, a great complement to the grand old-world feel of the rest of the hotel. It was also exceptionally clean. Breakfast was also impressive, and the service there was no exception, prompt and friendly.

The Kaiserin Elisabeth was a great find!

“EURO 2008:Wunderbar”

Very obliging staff. They help you in every situation and it isn't a real problem for them to get tickets for all the cultural events coming up in Vienna. The location of the hotel is great. Only 2 minutes waking from the "Stephansdom" in the beating heart of Vienna. During the EURO 2008 the fans were celebrating their teams just outside the hotel. Even the hotel is located in the citycenter inside it's very quiet. The breakfast buffet could be bigger and the jus could be fresher but it's okay!
All rooms are equipped with free high speed internet.

“Beautiful City, Excellent Hotel”

Kaiserin Elisabeth

It was our first visit to Vienna and after five days we left with nothing but wonderful memories of both the city and the hotel. As stated in other reviews the location could not be more central with most of the major attractions within easy walking distance and the spire of St Stephens was always a good landmark when we needed to find our way back to the hotel! Not only is the city beautiful but also has a lovely atmosphere and we felt very safe wandering through the streets back to the hotel after an evening meal in one of the many local restaurants. We could not find fault with either the room or the breakfast.

Undoubtedly the day staff behind the desk need a special mention as they went out of their way to be as helpful as possible. To sum up if you have not visited Vienna do so and if you want somewhere to stay in the very heart of the city Kaiserin Elisabeth is an excellent choice.

“Excellent boutique hotel with great location”

Kaiserin Elisabeth

We stayed at the Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth for 3 nights in May 2008. The rooms, while old, are very clean, have very comfortable beds with feather pillows and down duvets, and are spacious by European standards. Our bathroom was huge, but no standing shower, only a Roman style bathtub faucet by the tub.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide range of selections. We both agreed that the coffee was amongst the BEST we have had anywhere.

The location is outstanding and in easy walking distance to St. Stephen's, the Opera house and Hofburg Palace.

The hotel is located on a dead-end street, so traffic noise is not an issue. Given the old construction of the building, the ceilings are high and we never heard any noise from the adjacent rooms. We would stay there again.

“Central but expensive”

Kaiserin Elisabeth

4 of 5 stars
Skerries, Ireland
May 18, 2008

This is a great Vienna hotel for the tourist. Very central in the inner city makes almost every destination walkable. Very large room for a central Europe hotel (we had number 213). Very clean. Breakfast buffet also large and good. Staff helpful. However a bit expensive at €214 incl breakfast even by Europe standards - I can get a good hotel in Paris for less. However Vienna is an expensive town so not sure if this is also bad value. Would go back.
