“Le Manzinaie is splendid in every way”

We knew Tuscany would be beautiful in the spring, but we never expected our hosts at Le Manzinaie would be so extraordinarily thoughtful, attentive, and generous. Other reviewers have said that Marzia, Fiore, and Alice love their work, and they do - and it's authentic, not an act to drum up business. Ask for clean towels and they appear in minutes; request reservations at nearby restaurants or distant museums and you find a confirmation on your door; show up at the office and Fiore offers you a cappucino or a glass of local wine; say yes to having dinner there and enjoy home-made pasta and freshly-grilled meats; express interest in meeting other guests (or, in keeping to yourself) and your wishes will be honored. Every gesture is made with warm smiles and hearty laughs.

Rooms are tastefully decorated with Marzia's personal touches - not luxurious, but extremely comfortable. Location is excellent for driving (once you master the small and winding roads) and for taking the train to Siena or Florence.

We were at Le Manzinaie for two weeks and could not possibly have been happier. If you go to Tuscany and want quiet, warmth, and easy access to some of the best parts of the region, you'll want to stay here.

We had a wondeful stay at the Podere Le Manzianie in May 2007. The hosts were so gracious, the accomadations were very very comfortable. If we were missing something or had any questions Alice was there the next minute at our door to explain it. We stayed in 2BR apartment and it was very convenient with all the modern features.

Alice provided us with a map of the area and a sample itinerary once we arrived, helped us in picking places to visit etc. Our second day, they invited over for dinner with the other guests. We had a wonderful time and Fiore had coooked an amazing meal.

We had visited the hilltowns around montepulciano while we were there and left for florence after a few days. We did not want to leave for florence but wanted to stay over at Le Manzinaie for the reminder of our stay.

Would definitely go back there again, may be next year and would not stay at any other place but here.

“Lovely place”

I had been concerned that Le Manzinaie would be removed from the rolling Tuscan hills, located as it is in flat farmland east of the A-1. However, we were delighted with its location and setting and relieved to have a stretch of straight road after driving the winding and hilly ones all day sightseeing. Le Manzinaie is indeed a refuge, a haven of lovely tranquillity with gracious surroundings and hosts, who could not be more generous. I look forward to returning in warm weather, to enjoy their pool and garden. What you give up in long views is more than made up for by the peaceful, accessible oasis they've created here in the middle of a cornfield.

Couple of petty details:
The don't offer wireless internet, but dial-up in your room, for a rate/minute, and I couldn't get my Macbook's internal model to work, for some frustrating reason.
If you need to wash some clothes, the nearest laundromat is many miles away. You can do it in your sink and hang them on their line.
Breakfast isn't included. They do stock your room and fridge with coffee and other things to last a morning or two, but then you'll need to replenish it yourselves.

We discovered Trattoria Guastini, a wonderful little restaurant in the nearby tiny hill town of Valiano, 2-3 K east, right on the main (only) road. It seems to be run by a husband/wife team, with her the chef. Charming dining room, great terrace, wonderful food.

Podere Le Manzinaie

Nov 1, 2007

We stayed at Le Manzinaie from October 9-13, 2007. This was our first holiday in Tuscany and hopefully not our last. The warmth and hospitality given to us by Marzia, Fiore, and Alice during our stay was truly genuine and so appreciated. We arrived as stranieri and left feeling as if we were a part of their family. They have done a beautiful job restoring their property during the last eight years and it is just exquisite~~~with loving attention given to every detail. From Marzia's beautiful painting and perfect design of each apartment and villa to Fiore's talented craftmanship throughout, and Alice's excellent help and gracious attention, we immediately felt truly welcome and right at home. The dinner they prepared for us and their other guests on our first night was just delicious and a marvelous time was had by all. We feel very fortunate to have found Le Manzinaie~~~and so very blessed to have shared time with our hosts, three of the most sincere and caring people we have ever met during our travels. Marzia, Fiore, and Alice, we wish you continued happiness and success with your Italian paradise~~no one deserves it more! We are so grateful to you for helping make our holiday one that we will always treasure and remember. To those of you searching for a place to call home in Tuscany~~~look no further. You will not be disappointed. Make your reservations now. Sincerely, Bill and Carol USA

“Tuscany at its best!!”

Podere Le Manzinaie

5 of 5 stars
parksville
Oct 28, 2007

We spent a week at Le Manzinae and absolutely loved it!!
The setting is beautiful-quiet-you are in the middle of a huge corn field!! The villa has been totally refurbished by Fiore and his wife, Mariza!! Our villa slept 4 and each of us had our own bedroom with 5 piece ensuite bathroom. Clean, sparkling clean!!The kitchen is well equipped--Mariza and Fiore are soon offering cooking classes--you just know this will be a wonderful experience as the dinner they cooked for us was out of this world!! We were with the other guests (23 of us) and had such a good time--we met everyone and it made for a nice "getting to know you" time.We also were taken to a wonderful winery, where we were versed on the art of winemaking and then treated to a wonderful tasting of 4 wines with antipasto!! So good!!
I can't say too much about this villa!! The owners and their daughter, Alice, just can't do enough for you and genuinely love, love, love their job.
Go there--you won't be disappointed!!
