“Wonderful accomodations!”

Upon arriving to Dingle, we pulled into the first large lot we saw...it was for the Emlagh House not Lodge. Don't get confused but you are very close to Maggie's b&b. Our room faced the bay and had a wonderful view. The room and bathroom were tidy and spotless. All the reminders another reviewer mentioned were there. I suspect that they have come from experience, and some very thoughtless guests. I am a neat freak myself and can respect someone who wants to maintain a certain level of care. The breakfast was fabulous and my husband and I found us not wanting or needing to eat until dinner. The house is a short walk away from the town of Dingle and also very close to a lovely walk along the water. You could walk forever if you wanted. We loved our experience and would stay there again.

My wife and I throughly enjoyed our stay and Dingle. I have no complaints at all about the Emlagh Lodge. We stayed there toward the end of the tourist season in October. We had a nice time driving around the peninsula. We ate at the pubs twice in Dingle if for no other reason than to save a bit of money. Our hostess was very nice, very accommodating and knowledgeable. We stayed there a few nights and I don't think there was a single day that we didn't see Fungie from our room.

Breakfast was yummy.

This B&B had us fantasizing about relocating to Dingle permanently!
Fantastic views of the bay as you wake up and beautiful, spacious rooms. You walk into town on a private little trail that snakes along the bay. As we had to leave very early the following morning, Maggie insisted on providing breakfast for us over an hour before normally scheduled- and what a breakfast too! Maggie was one of those hosts that left us wishing we had more time to get to know her- she was welcoming and wonderful! Not to mention that she provided a reccomendation for one of our best meals in Ireland at the Half Door.

As for any rules posted, such as, please be aware that other guests may be sleeping and please don't put your towels on the raditator, these requests were by no means unreasonable if you are a respectful B&B guest. I'm suprised people would find them taxing.

“Quintessential Irish Hospitality”

Emlagh Lodge

Apr 11, 2008

My wife and I stayed three nights in March at Emlagh Lodge in Dingle. We had high expectations after reading many positive Tripadvisor reviews. We were not disappointed. Of four B&B establishments we stayed at on our nine night trip in Ireland, Emlagh Lodge was our favorite, hands down.

The town of Dingle was lovely, and the entire Peninsula showcased some of the most breathtaking natural beauty in Ireland. Con(n)or Pass and Slea Head drive were especially memorable.

Apart from the charm of Dingle, the B&B itself was a terrific experience for the two of us. We immediately noticed how immaculate Maggie keeps her house upon arrival. Our room had a clean smell of fresh linens. The linens were wonderful, and the bed was comfortable to us, with full pillows.

The location of Emlagh Lodge was so ideal! The walk to the hustle and bustle of town was shorter than we expected, yet it was so quite there on the bay. We loved watching the sun go down as boats cruised by.

Breakfasts in the dining area were terrific! I believe Maggie checked on us at least three times between the standard offerings each morning to ask if we needed anything else. She stepped in from the kitchen a few times to share stories with us and other guests. I regret that I didn't try her yogurt/fruit parfait until the last morning...

I have seen other reviewers upset by the "rules" Maggie requests you follow. We found these requests to be totally reasonable to anyone wishing to respect the property of their host, and realized that the requests were designed to keep the house just as beautiful as we found it.

Once again, we found Emlagh Lodge to be a wonderful haven in Dingle. We would recommend Emlagh Lodge to a traveler seeking great value in a B&B.

been one of a party that stayed here we would have reservations about above average height people thinking of staying here. The slanted ceilings gave us a very uncomfortable stay with a lot of stooping involved and a very closed in feeling to room.Nice in other ways but just not for 'tallies' like us.
