The room was very good, very clean and extra large. We had a fantastic view over the fjord. Great place to stay for visiting this area.

I stayed at this hotel once before back in 2003 and remembered I liked it - I had stayed at quite a few hotels all over Norway at the time. It is the cheaper one of the 2 major hotels in Sogndal (the Quality hotel being the more expensive one). I walked into my room and found a few dead flies on the floor but forgetting about that it was a nice room. Wooden floors, leather chair and I arrived to find the heaters were on which was great as it had been freezing outside. There is free internet access in most rooms (maybe all?) and you can access it through the TV with a keyboard. I remembered finding it very useful last time. When I tried it, the TV had an error message. I told someone about it at reception and they had someone come up and fix it straight away! When I went back later it was working. They were doing renovations on the first floor and apologised for the noise. It didn't disturb me as it was only for a few hours in the afternoon. The staff were friendly and helpful. I remember in 2003 I had been in a rush to checkout and there hadn't been anyone at reception to serve me. This was not the case this time. Also there is a pub/restaurant next door, accessible through the hotel. The hotel is centrally located - just a few minutes walk from the main street and the same for the central bus station. I would stay here again.
