We stayed here between Christmas and New Year's 2006 and loved it. The location is wonderful (quiet, rural), the hosts are helpful and friendly, the grounds are beautiful. The cabanas are surrounded by a functioning rubber plantation - we got to see them collect the sap from cups below the slashed bark, wash it and press it into sheets, and then hang it up to dry. The animals on the grounds (when we were there there was a deer and several peacocks) are fun for kids. The walk into town is pleasant, along a wide bike path. The bus to the ruins stops at the end of the lane. It really was a perfect vacation spot - I would recommend this to anyone. It is NOT a 5-star hotel (nor does it claim itself to be): there were no TVs in the room, no hair dryers, no in-room internet. We loved it for these reasons (and all the reasons above).
