On our first trip to Sydney. We stayed for a week here and have mixed feelings about this place.

Great location wise..

Transport just minutes away and conveniently close to Paddy's market and all the Sydney attractions.

Unfortunately the heater in the second bed room wasnt functioning at all. Most unfortunate was that we were there during winter and had to deal with cold nights.

After requesting someone to look into the problem, after 3 times, we were given more blankets and a small portable heater.

We didnt find anything wrong with the cleaning, but it was strange that we found ourselves answering the door early in the morning to people to tell them when we will out for them to clean the room.

This didnt hamper our trip much but was a bit of a hassle.

Our three children and we spent three nights in its Family Room, which was made from an one-bedroom executive apartment. The room was clean and was tidied every day, but the balcony was filthy and obviously hadn't been cleaned for a long time. Giving only $219 per night, we didn't expect a large room so we were satisfied to find the room a bit congested (the bedroom has a queen sized bed, with another queen sized bed and a roll-away bed in the sitting room, which means we couldn't watch the TV after the children were asleep there). The bigger frustration was that despite the existence of hotplates and a frying pan (provided only after we requested for one), the minikitchen actually couldn't afford any cooking other than coffee making or egg boiling. The underperforming rangehood made our room fill with smoke and set off the smoke detector before the first steak was done. We had to send the rest the the steaks to the microwave and it totally wasted our dinner. The location of the hotel is great, and the staff are friendly, but we had better experience in other hotels/apartments in Sydney. For a slightly highly price there are better rooms in other hotels with better facilities (e.g. a swimming pool) at equally convenient locations.

There were 8 of us in our group which arrived on Feb. 28 from a cruise and stayed til March 4th. I'm also going to mention here that City Shuttle, which we booked in advanced to pick us up from the ship, went to the wrong wharf and delivered us to Pacific Int'l Hotel, not Apts. Then blamed us for giving them the wrong info.
Back to Pacific Int'l Apts. I took photos of the place just to show our friends and co-workers what a dirty place this was. The sofa had a large stain in the seat and under an arm cover, the material was completely gone and the foam showed. Both chairs were stained, cigarette burns and stains on the old worn carpet and the ceiling and walls were stained. Everynite, we'd take off the stained bedcover. We wore slippers or socks all the time.
The day before we left, the hotel had a hot water pipe burst. Fixed it and another burst. This tells me that preventive maintenance is lacking. No showers that day. Wasn't fixed till evening.
I read an earlier review of someone getting the ground floor apt. facing a wall. That was the one they showed us first. We finally complained enough to get a fifth floor room.
We had booked this hotel months in advance thru Expedia.
Otherwise, Sydney was ok. Wished we would have stayed elsewhere.

Stayed here for one night, nothing to complain about. Apartments are nice and modern, respectable bathrooms, reasonable size, and having a balcony was nice. Room wasn't ready for us until 3pm but to be fair it was New Year's Day.

Broadband internet access always a plus.

As this is an apartment hotel the services on offer don't compare to a similar standard hotel, no real room service (although there's plenty of stuff available in the surrounding area), and the lack of a gym and pool wouldn't go over too well if I was staying longer, but all in all, for a short stay, I'm not complaining.
