We stayed at this hotel in November 2005. It was a hotel that was part of our 2 week package. The staff was very friendly and so helpful. We got lots of help from them on tours to go to the Great Barrier Reef. They made great suggestions and helped a lot.

The rooms were comfortable and clean. I'd probably go back to this hotel. It was in a pretty good location. For the money we spent on this trip, the hotel was definitely worth it.

I loved this hotel. Everything was clean, and the staff was so very very friendly. Breakfast is expensive, but good and filling. The view of the ocean from our balcony just made the room. I took some of the best pictures of my time in Australia on that balcony. The rooms come with working hairdryers and a personal safe (I loved that). The hotel is a bit of a walk from the middle of town, but it gives you a chance to get to know Cairns. Also, the hotel provides a shuttle that drops off and picks up at the town center to take you back to the hotel.

I'm a travel agent, so I've been to a lot of hotels.
I would stay here agin, but it would not be my 1st preference..
The price is pretty good here, and it is close to town (you can walk or there is a shuttle during the day)
The rooms were large and had a fridge, coffee maker, ect. There was a balcony and we had an oceanview. The tub was nice and big.
The bed was a king bed, but it was really two twin beds, and they weren't level, so I kept almost falling off. The beds were not that comfortable either. Livable for the 4 nights we were there, but I don't know if we could have done much longer.
The halls were REALLY musty. The A/C didn't work as well as we would have liked, and this was also an issue at the Mercure Brisbane.
The breakfast was OK, but kind of expensive for what they had.
The staff was friendly and always willing to help out.
Overall, not bad if they would have fixed the A/C it would have been much better.
If you are going, be sure to eat at Apres Beach in town- GREAT steaks, and the prices aren't bad for the area. Feel free to e-mail with questions.

The hotel was fine, the personel more or less friendly and helpful, housekeeping was adapting to our wishes without asking! But do not ask for a packed lunch.....it is very expensive! Do not eat breakfeast at Teshis it is expensive and not good enough for the price you pay. At the blue Mango the food was fine. It is also a fair walk to the restaurants in the city, we never had the chance to catch the shuttelbus. Next time we will choose a hotel or better a small apartement nearer to the restaurants, for our holidays. We loved cairns.
