We stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night to take in "Spamalot" and the monuments and museums. We found a weekend rate of $109 on the hotel website, and chose the hotel because we were travelling with friends who wanted to use Hilton points for their stay. The location is fantastic; about 5 blocks north of the National Theatre, and a Metro station is right across the street. The room was comfortable, although we only had a view of another buliding. The mattress was extremely comfy, and a refrigerator and microwave were provided. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, and the housekeepers did a fine job.
A couple of cautions: parking was $32 a day, including taxes! Also, the breakfast buffet in the hotel is $16 a person. The food was great, including cooked to order eggs and omelets, but still, $16 was a bit of a shock. In retrospect, we should have booked at the $129 rate that included breakfast.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel for a weekend stay. The Sofitel, a block away, is also a good bet. A couple of good restaurants are Les Halles on Pennsylvania avenue (French), and Finemondo, just a couple of blocks south (Italian).
